I shut down my puter last night cause the weather said severe storms before morning. We got no storms. Didn't even start to rain til after I got up.Still have storm warnings. May have to shut down at some point.

Maybe time for a generator system or a whole-house nat-gas generator setup. (if you're on nat-gas).
(Look at me spending Tib's money... )

She might have something.

The whole-house thing is only recently becoming mainstream. And she may not have enough occasion to justify the $$$. It's mostly things like furnace, air-conditioning and fridge that are critical.

EDIT: They have isolated panels that are "transfer switches" for generators. Not 100% on the details. I do it all manually with a small generator and flipping switches.

Our PITA neighbor put his whole house generator in 11-12 years ago.

and after 15 hrs we're back, hmpf! hopefully in time - ice cubes had just started melting in freezer side ...........

atty, don't you remember? first of all no natural gas here but
dh > diesel
tibs > propane

and never the 2 shall meet

got a little gasoline generator for fish tank etc but couldn't get that started this morning. neighbor came to help so we could have some coffee at least

and a good morning to everybody assembled
