The one on the left has mini portions maybe that would be better then, i do like high doses of nic and vape 36mg or 24mg normally, although maybe with vapeing alongside the mini may be better. I suppose if you went with the mini's and you wanted a higher nic hit you could just pop 2 in? Or is there some reason why you could not do that?

Also has anybody used one of those cool looking snuff devices or know somebody who does?

Cheers Lee.

I wanted to chime in to add to the pile of thank-you's to TropicalBob for starting this thread. I've been e-smoking for 6 weeks now and, like TB, have a pretty voracious nicotine requirement. Shocked and amazed to be completely off the analogs after 25 years of 1-2 packs a day! But I need all the help I can get to stay off. I had never heard of snus until I read about them here. Picked up some tins at a tobacco shop last week and found them pleasant enough, but it was a very limited selection -- they had piles of General White portions, some General Wintergreen, a whole shelf of Camel Frost, and one lone can of CatchDry peppermint. The clerk said they always sell out of the CatchDry. So anyway I got 1 tin of each of those. I haven't come close to finishing them, but I am using them every day and wanted to try some of the other flavors & brands I've been reading about here. So I've been window-shopping a lot over the past few days at the Swedish sites, and finally placed an order the other night at Northern.com. I initially tried to order at BuySnus.com but, just like BishyBob mentioned last year, I got a screen saying my bank had refused payment to that seller...!? So I went to Northern and placed the order just fine, and it turned out to be a lot cheaper too. Does anyone know why BuySnus is so much more expensive than Northern? Seems like most cans are at least fifty cents to a dollar more than they are at Northern, and if they're using a payment system that tends to get refused by the banks, well... that can't be good for business, I'm just sayin'...

Snus are interesting... definitely a satisfying way to get your nic on, but the sweet & salty thing takes a little getting used to. I tried a General White portion first and found it *slightly* nasty when I popped it in, but not bad at all once the initial mouth-reaction died down. It's not a flavor I'm going to gravitate towards in the future, but it's really not bad. My favorite of the ones I bought is the CatchDry Peppermint. Very tasty and refreshing. Camel Frost really overdoes it on the sweetness but it's not bad either. General Wintergreen I like pretty well too, better than the Camel Frost and definitely better than the General White portions. So I guess if I can tolerate all these flavors, including General White, I'm probably a good candidate for snusing. :) My Northern order consisted of 10 cans of various brands & flavors that have been mentioned favorably here. I have the highest hopes for Mocca Pomegranate, really looking forward to trying that one.

On another topic, I also got curious about Stonewall dissolvables, another thing I learned about via TropicalBob's posts. Looked around at several Walgreen's and couldn't find any, so I ordered online via their website. They arrived in the mail today. Got one box of wintergreen and two of the coffee flavor. I proclaim them both to be delicious! Pretty sweet, but right tasty. I don't know about the nicotine kick... I'm getting so much nicotine in so many ways, it's really hard for me to tell how much any one particular thing is affecting me. :-|

I used to work at a tobacco shop in Austin, in the 80s -- okay, a head shop! -- and we sold snuff, so I tried it a few times. It was fun, gave a good kick, but I really didn't like blowing my nose and seeing all the little speckles! We were putting it on the web between our thumb & index finger and snuffing it up... made me feel like Calamity Jane or something. Heh.

That's all I have to report. Thanks again TB. (Wow, that was long and blabby...!)

I can't answer the "why" but I have found it useful to make a habit of checking several vendors (usually Northerner, BuySnus, and GetSnus) and of comparing total cost of the whole order with shipping rather than just purchase price. For example, in a recent order I found Northerner had the best prices AND total cost for most things I wanted, but for my rolls of Thunder Extra Stark (only) I discovered BuySnus had the better deal at the time, even after the extra shipping cost of splitting the order between them. So that's what I did.

I didn't have the problem you did with a rejected payment. Wonder if trying a different card would do the trick? You prolly thought of that.

I just tried an order from the northerner, being the addict type I am I ordered the energy snus and odens cinnamon, both the classic and extra stark. All three leave much to be desired, the 24mg odens is like suicide in a can. What are some good cinnamon flavor snus out there? I would really like to find a candy style cinnamon flavor like red hots/atomic fireballs.

I wasn't overly fond of the Oden's I've tried either, including "Kanel" version which is supposed have cinnamon taste. I get the impression both Camel Mellow and Camel Frost might be closer to elpresidente's taste, even though neither is cinnamon. Some of the white portion minty varieties of Swedish snus such as... CATCH ...would be my next guess for something to recommend, but they are a lot more tart than what you're describing as your preference.

A lot of the more pungent of the salty-peppery and bergamot influenced flavors that are traditionally mainstream among Swedish snusers are very strangely foreign to American tastes, and can be really off-putting at first. They were to me, though I developed a taste for them pretty quickly, but I'm sure there are also many who wouldn't or wouldn't want to. Remember that those traditional varieties come from a culture which considers LUTEFISK to be its great national delicacy:
The origins of lutefisk are a subject of debate. Some accounts mention a fish accidentally dropped in a washing bowl containing lye, and because of family poverty, the fish had to be eaten. Other stories discuss fires of various kinds, because ashes of wood combined with water will create lye.

One possible scenario is that drying racks for stockfish caught fire, followed by days of rain, and then the fish, being too valuable to throw away even in this condition, was picked from the ashes...

...Folklore holds that lutefisk originated during the Viking pillages of Ireland, when St. Patrick sent men to pour lye on stores of dried fish on the longships, with the hope of poisoning the Vikings. However, rather than dying of poisoning, the Vikings declared lutefisk a delicacy...

I wish my snus would come already! I ordered a couple cans from Northernor and a couple from Buysnus. It's been a week, and every day I've been in this forum reading about them and totally itching to try, hehe.
Here's another site I use from time to time....Get snus at GetSnus.com
They have a fair selection at pretty good prices and shipping is USPS priority. They are located right here in the States. Every 5 cans you buy they give you a free mystery can with your order. Had good service from them as well.:)

The maker of Skoal is moving into snus in small portions, much like the Camel ones. I've tried all of the SkoalDry flavors and cinnamon is my favorite by a long shot. These are mild snus, unlike Odins. My local shop doesn't yet carry them, but I've read that they are now available nationwide. I just haven't seen them in a local shop yet. I made my original orders online when I first tried Skoal snus .... maybe six months ago. Good stuff, weak stuff.

I was given 3 tins of the Camel Frost Snus at a local store today.

I asked for a can, and the girl at the counter said "We don't have these for sale. We're just supposed to give them away when someone buys a pack of cigarettes." To which I answered "Well, it kinda defeats the purpose for me. I want one so I DON'T buy a pack of cigarettes!"

She seemed astonished that I wanted it, but she just decided that she'd just give me a few. She said they can't even give them away. lol

Hey Guys,

This does not work for me in the UK, but as far as i am aware just for Americans.

If you are in America and want to try snus you can get a free sample here General ® Snus | The Original Swedish Snus ™ by Swedish Match © I apologise if it has been posted already but if not go ahead and try it, let me know how you get on. :)

Cheers Lee.

Bastage, I'll tell you a secret I won't post on Snuson: Wise Wine and Chef made me violently ill yesterday. It was the second time it's done that. Profuse sweating, nausea, intimate relationship with bathroom, etc. I threw out the remaining portions. Far too potent. I prefer 3mg Wise or others.

Cheers to anything that isn't deadly and keeps us from inhaling tobacco smoke!

Hmm i have the Wise Citrus/Menthol 6mg in the order i put in, ill watch out for it. Also for anybody else who wants to watch out for it or avoid it wise have now changed name and called something like "oomph" prolly a good name by the sounds of it lol.

I did also read up on the oomph snus and quite a lot of people said that it comes on a lot quicker and delivers the nicotine in a shorter amount of time.

Cheers Lee.

D_Struct, much the same reaction has been happening in other places. Let's face it, snus does not replicate smoking. It would be easier for a dipper to switch to snus than for a smoker. But snus packs a powerful nicotine kick, and, combined with e-smoking, takes good care of me. Camel is sweet and not overpowering in its nicotine. You can buy much more powerful snus from Sweden. I personally prefer Swedish snus.

There is a conspiracy theory (always, someone has a conspiracy theory) that says American snus is designed to fail, so Big Tobacco can say, "We tried a harm reduction alternative. We spent a lot of money developing snus and smokers rejected the product. They want our cigarettes."

Bull. American Big Tobacco just doesn't have it right yet. Sweden has made snus for 200 years. RJR for two. Give RJR 198 more years and they might have something as good as what Sweden offers now.

Yeah. I don't really mind the Frost stuff. I'm currently waiting for my order from Northerner to arrive.

I did that. Took longer to get to me than a regular order from one of the online vendors, like about 2-3 weeks, and I almost forgot I signed up with Swedish Match to get it, but I have it now.

The sample they sent me includes: General White Portion Wintergreen, General White Portion Mini Mint, General White Portion, and General Original Portion. I haven't opened any of them yet, but I think there are only about 3 or 4 portions in each of the packets, so it amounts to about 12-16 portions total.

The nice thing about it for me is that each type is in a little foil packet about the size of a post-it note, making it easy to slip into a pocket. I play poker for long continuous sessions (last night I played 12 hours straight through without a dinner break) in close quarters with the people whose money I'm competing to take sitting elbow to elbow at casino poker tables, and these things will be more handy in that kind of situation than screwing around with opening a can and fishing out a portion. But last night I forgot I also had a couple of the foil samples with me, so I haven't used any of them yet. It will be my first taste of General's minty type offerings.

I don't have much of a sweet tooth, but I'm starting to appreciate having the Frost around more than I first thought. For me it's nice to rotate it in between using some of the Swedish snus to cut the salty pungent stuff, like cleansing the palate with a sherbet or sorbet in between heavy courses during a meal.

Oh by the way, when I first bought Camel Snus at a local retailer I had to find it for the poor befuddled clerk, who had no earthly idea where or what to look for to sell it to me, in spite of the sign out front in the window. Guess they must not have been selling tons of it on his shift.
