I'm so bummed right now. I've been a 2 pack a day smoker, and have tried to quit multiple times, including twice on Chantix. I just managed with Chantix, but was incredibly depressed once the Chantix was done - I realized I still needed the nicotine to hit my "happy" receptors, so picked up analogs again. Then, I started reading about ecigs - and it gave me new hope. I found a store in my town that sold ecigs and headed that way to pick up a starter set. These were the type of ecigs that had 2 pieces - a battery and a prefilled cartomizer. They did seem to work ok - i happily puffed on them, but somehow it still didn't really satisfy and they didn't seem to fill that need.

Then I found this forum and really started reading up on vaping and various types of ecigs. I ordered an Ego-T starter kit with lots of samples. Got it on Friday, tore into the package, put things together and started vaping. I loved it - called my family and told them I think I discovered the secret! Well, as Saturday came along, the vaping became a bit unpleasant. I still vaped, but went from flavor to flavor and couldn't seem to get any that felt right and started feeling slightly ill with each vape - and the vapes felt really harsh. I figured I might be reacting to a 100% PG liquid, so I ordered a bunch of new liquids, and decided to order a Provari for better control of ohms and resistance - I thought that I needed to try more VG type liquids and to play around with adjusting for less of a throat hit. I'm eagerly awaiting the Provari, but hoped to keep the vaping with the Ego until then.

This morning, I fired up the Ego and got ejuice coming out of the tip - yuck. I read up on cleaning atomizers, did that, and it helped, but every vape made me feel more ill - to the point I put the ego aside and caved - went out and bought a pack of analogs.

I'm expecting some new eliquids with a higher percentage of VG in this week but think I might wait to try vaping again until I get the Provari in as well, which won't be for a couple of weeks. Argh

I SO wanted this to work, and am still hoping with the Provari it will - but right now even the thought of a vape with my current eliquids sort of makes me ill :( The other weird thing I discovered is that although I have a major sweet tooth, the sweet flavorings like chocolate (!) definitely don't appeal to me at all!

Anyone know if it will work if I use a 70%VG/30%PG blend in either a Vision clear tank or a cartridge on my Ego-T or is the liquid too viscous for that?

Hoping to be a happy vaper again ... soon!

Are you using the ego-t with a provari? If so ... ive never heard of that combo :) You need a new tank system. You have the best mod out, now you need a good tank lol. I would suggest vivi nova. Others would say other stuff ... Just check into it.

You can use any liquid you need to with the vivi, or clearo's.

Sounds like you had too much nicotine after getting it in your mouth ... or nic poison. Its not good getting it in your mouth, and it happens with ego-t. Try the vivi nova ... You must replace the ego-t having a provari :):):):)

Hey there - sorry I was confusing! I have the Ego-T right now, with 100% PG eqliquid, and that's just hitting my throat hard, and making me sick.

I ordered the ProVari and some other eliquids in a VG/PG blend in the hope that what I was reacting too was the PG, and also hoping to be able to control the throat hit/vapor.

Unfortunately, the ProVari isn't coming for a few weeks, so I was hoping that until then, my Ego-T with a Vision clear tank would be able to handle the VG/PG blend of liquids when they come in.

The taste - I'm not sure why it's hitting me different now - I've tried both cartridges and the Vision clear tank on my Ego-T, and everytime I vape it seems to hit me harsher and harsher - so I thought maybe I was developing some sort of reaction to 100% PG.

A 70vg/30pg blend will work just fine in either of those tanks. I think you will find vaping much more enjoyable with the provari. Some liquids taste better at lower/higher voltages and you can dial that in with the provari. Hope everything works out for you. Don't give up!

Glad to hear I can give it another shot with the Ego until the ProVari arrives. I really do want this to work!

Just hold on and don't purchase anything more for now. Don't put pressure on yourself.

Your tastebuds go crazy when you start and you really do get a lot of reactions from quitting smoking to vaping. What you hate the taste of today, tomorrow you may love. If a juice is too harsh, add a few drops of VG that you can pick up anywhere.

If you feel a little ill, put down the pv for awhile. Drink some water. Remind yourself you no longer stink.

A lot of flavors sound better then they actually taste. Especially for a long period of time. My first e-liquid was OK. I bought about 20 other juices that are sitting in a box and I went back to the very first one I tried. Still use it. Don't look to fall in love with an e-liquid at first.

Welcome to the forum. Sorry about your troubles, please don't get discouraged. It does sometimes take a while for new ecig users to find what works for them. For all the good advice here, not everyone has the same needs to replace their smoking habit.

Keep trying and you'll get there. Nothing wrong with vaping and smoking as you start out. Keep trying flavors in sample sizes from different vendors, get low. medium and high nic to match your mood and level of vaping, and get some good atomizers to go with that Provari.

The ego-t tank systems work great when they work, but they aren't worth the trouble for all the down time when they are leaking or charring wick because they don't flow right. The ego batteries will still be useful as backups to the provari.

Thanks - I am encouraged just by lurking around this forum - a lot of helpful advice and major encouragement and understanding.

Don't beat yourself up on the analog thing. This is a marathon, not a sprint. Good choice on the Provari, great PV.

When I switched over to vaping (after 33 years smoking 1.5 to 3 PAD) I went through a couple different phases that are common amongst early vapers. First was the withdrawal from cigs. I had almost flu like symptoms and hacked all kinds of stuff for about a week. You might get the nic fix with vaping, but your body still needs to detox the other ~3999 chemical dependencies from smoking. Don't worry, it goes away and afterwards things smell better and taste better and for me shortness of breath went away completely.

Second thing is taste fluctuations. I went through a phase where I didn't taste anything and then once I could taste better, stuff I liked before tasted horrible so had to find new flavors I liked.

A couple tips: Becareful, you can over-nic. This can cause headaches, nausea, heart racing. Be sure to drink lots of water. vaping can dehydrate you and that can lead to some of the symptoms you've described.

There's a great thread for info: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ed-questions-about-electronic-cigarettes.html

Good luck and keep with it. Once you find your "sweet spot" vaping absolutely rocks!

This is just a wondering question but are you bipolar? I am and you sound like me but here are my thoughts I went nutz about it all and ended up getting the equipment and a bunch of juice and found nothing that even came close to satisfying my nic need. So I went back and found a girl I decided I couldn't live without but she didn't smoke and can't be around the smoke either. So round 2 I Orderd a bunch of juice and found strawbery/banana and a few others. But it killed me I couldn't stand the thought of vaping a banana split! So I decided that it was the tobacco flavor I was missing and found myself in a vape shop going "get em all out" I tried all I could till I found Cuban cigar and it worked I was hooked. Fast forward 6 months and the Cubans just aren't working anymore. My fav all day and without fail vape now......strawberry/banana don't and won't leave home without it.....

Sent from my truck using 3 toasters a broken microwave and 6 rubber bands McGyver style......Chuck Norris aint got crap on me

You did the most important thing- you ordered something.

No lie, I read here for about 5 months before I ordered. When the kit came it sat here for about a week. I'd just stare at the box and smoke. Fear of failure I guess.

I eased on into it. Best thing that ever happened to me was finding this forum and vaping.

You'll do fine. Just hang in there and read and ask questions.

Not bipolar, but just have a habit of beating myself up for failing :) Although, I'm realizing now I didn't fail - I just stumbled but am still moving forward

And I gotta say - right now strawberry/banana sure doesn't sound good to vape, but I have a feeling down the road I'll probably change my mind too, once my tastebuds recover

At this point I'm almost ready to go and see if my local shop has the strawberry banana, I'm almost craving it after just hearing it. I'm at that nothing taste good stage right now too and it is killing me. I want to taste something good again. The good thing is that analogs taste putred to me right now. But, I'm withdrawing and cranky and really wanting to smoke one. I get it out of my system, it stinks, so go right back to vaping. I'll get there and so won't you.

It is weird that the flavors that would normally be your favorites in candy or food are not your favorites in vaping. I love bananas and butterscoth but I absolutely hate vaping them.

Yes - in just my brief foray into sampling, I've been astonished at what I didn't like and what I liked. I'm really encouraged again, and will happily try new flavors once I get dialed into the right setup :)

Thanks and you too! It's encouraging to know that it's common to go through various taste level changes as our bodies get rid of all those 3000+ additives in the analogs
