I just read through the entire thread and am also interested in an update!

I think many of us can identify with being a closet smoker. I quit smoking well over 2 years ago on Chantix. At the time I had no craving at all, and after 9 months I had a cigarette here or there, maybe a couple a month. The kind of sneaking around involved got to be completely ridiculous and it just escalated to the point I was smoking more and more (as I'm sure we can all attest to). Eventually I just flat out told my girlfriend I started smoking again and my close friends knew - but nobody at my work. I'd sneak off site, usually walking in 110+ degree heat 10 minutes and hiding behind buildings so that nobody knew. I've only been off cigarettes for a week but am optimistic and confident this is my ticket to being healthier.

Also, when my first kit arrived and I showed my girlfriend what is was, how it worked, and the health benefits and lack of smell - she was ecstatic!

Don't beat yourself up. Things happen he will understand. I smoked 41 yrs and put them down 3 weeks ago when I got my first kit. I am doing fine and so will you. You CAN do it!! We all beleive this and will always be here if you need a shoulder. At least the lie will end and so will the stress...Get yourself a Volt from smokelessimage.com you will never regret it.

Reading all these stories about closet smokers has really opened my eyes. I never, ever thought about this issue and after reading all these heartfelt stories I give 10 X kudos to all those that broke the analog habit and switched to vaping. This is a CLASSIC thread and I thank you all for sharing.

As a former closet smoker myself (feels GREAT to say former) I second this! :)

From my experience, not only is quitting hard enough, I had extra guilt and hardship from keeping it all from people. No support system (before ecf!!) Made it impossible for me. I have only "came out" to my fellow ecf-ers, and my fiancee. I had quit just as I started dating her. I struggled the entire time I was "quit" and did slip a bunch of times. Then I found the world of pv's! Unfortunately she's had to move 4hr away for work. This has added a lot of stress for both of us and I knew if I didn't do something quick I'd fall on old habbits to cope. Now we are both vapers and loving it! :)

I've gotta say too. I thought I was alone. I've had so much support from so many people on this forum! More than I could have ever imagined!!
