And I was reading the Drugstore Report(some thing that they send out to the pharmacy sections in all different drug stores) and an article about vapor caught my eye


if you can't read it, it basically says 'Vapor Corp'(the people who own Krave e-cigs) patented a padded cartidge/cartomizer to more realistically mimic a traditional cigarette. This could make the mini 808 style e-cigs look extremely similar to regular cigs, other than the ashcap on the end. What do you guys think of this?

it should be available online "by the end of the year" and "across their entire product line sometime in 2013"
It seems like they're really pushing hard to make e-cig just like regular cigs.

I think it's a step backwards. The last thing it the world I want to look like is someone smoking a cigarette. I won't be buying one.

I don't think there's anything wrong with them personally. I got off analogs using the smaller 808's. I probably wouldn't have hung onto vaping if I didn't have them to break me into it all.

For those that vape only to get their nicotine fix and like smoking cigs, i think this could be good; regardless of what it looks like, it's still just them getting their nicotine in a much healthier way with better effects for them and everyone else

My biggest fear is this industry falling into the hands of big government and/or big business. So far this industry has been an excellent example of how the free market can govern itself. If vulture capitalists go wild with patents and such, it wont be long until they get in bed with big government at our expense. Keep it in the hands of the people and allow the natural market run it's course.

For you or I? Definetly a step backwards. For people like my girlfriend who wouldn't have even tried it if it didn't look like a real cigarette? A lifesaver. Im guessing there is some sort of physical connection she had while starting to vape. Since then she has moved on to tanks and 510 sticks and is doing really well.

there is a lot of truth to this. i wont be buying/using any thing that resembles a cigarette. but when i first started...the fact that when in my hand it sort-of felt like a cig had felt for nearly 20+years. i believe that helped me accept the e-cig as a suitable substitute.
ive come a long way since then, but i cant say for sure i would have got where i am today if i didnt have an alternative that resembled a real cigarette.

It's coming brother. I agree with your words 100%. But unfortunately once the industry gets too big it's inevitable.

I'm not sure how that will work out - some of the really early 510 cartos had a soft exterior covering to mimic a cig ........ with the decided disadvantage that the interior was TINY (I won some at the first UK vapefest, and they were considered unsellable then )

Yeah, there's definately something in the idea, but it's hardly the "most significant" innovation for everyone. Weight is the first thing that most smokers notice when trying an e-cig for the first time.
I haven't heard anyone say 'it's too hard' since I had a plastic cartridge-atomiser unit two years ago.

The second issue is size, but then it's always funny to respond to 'it's too big'....

I never picked up an e-cig and thought the "filter" was too hard. I had a harder time accepting that it was a lot heavier, and I couldn't flick it and flip it around the way I did a cigarette.

Totally a step backwards. If they look like analogs, then just by association people will raise their nose.

I've been through this when I first did e-cigs. People would even fake cough.

With my PV's that have no resemblance to an analog, people seem not to mind as much.
