So I've had my Reo Mini for about a week or two now...

That's my guess. I've never had a decreased performance based upon how hard I push the button....and we have found that mashing the button repeatedly over time will damage the positive battery contact, and possibly even break it. If I remember correctly, it's made of spring steel...and does have it's breaking point. If you are able to get it to fire with a lighter touch like I can with mine, then I'm guessing that it is working as it should. As I said, my buttons travel very little before good contact is made and I can vape to my hearts content. The only decreased performance I have had issue with is when the battery has 3.7-3.9 volts left in it. ...at that point I am tempted to press harder, but it never helps. Time to just put a freshly charged battery in. I do hope that regardless, you find a comfortable way to vape with the mini. The button top that Rob makes has helped others in this regard and may be worth trying....but I don't have one so I can't say for sure. Perhaps someone who has one can comment on this. If it continues to be uncomfortable, get a hold of Rob. He really does want you to enjoy it and use it pain free.

It would be great to confirm this, but if the button truly doesn't need to be pushed down all the way (delivers same voltage) then the issue is a bit moot because the button isn't at all difficult to push until the crackling is audible, just difficult to push all the way down.

I'll confirm it for you. All you need to do is make contact with the battery terminal.
Any further force is not needed and all it does is stress your firing pin then push the battery down and compress the spring more.

Repeat, just push the button until it touches the battery.

Oh, and take Rob up on the button top, they are awesome :D

I know my most recent Mini's button is tighter/harder than my older one. My first one only takes a very light touch to fire. The newer one is slowly breaking in and becoming easier to fire. I can't remember how the first one was when I first got it, but I'm thinking it might have taken a bit of time for it to loosen up. I only know the second one was tight because I had my original very used one to compare it to.

I have to agree about pushing button too far. All it has to do is make contact. My button is hard to push down if I try to push it all the way down and over time can damage the contact point. As stated in previous replies press the button witht he mod by your ear. When it makes sound that should do it. Was it hard to depress to reach the point when the atomizer sizzles?
