Maybe this got missed in all the E-.... swinging, but if my job was to sit in a truck for extended periods of time why wouldn't I want this setup? No batteries to mess with and with a large enough tank you could vape your face off for days on end....

You make a good point. That's a very convenient setup if you're going to be driving all day. (I'd still snag a KGO or E-Power or the like, too.)

............yes a eGo kit costs around $40-50 but a E-Power kit costs $60-70. At this point I would rather just get a brand new eGo battery/device than replace the parts in a E-Power when they wear out........

This is getting old. Now you are just plain being untruthful. The E-Power is $50, period:

E-Power Replacable Battery kit!

The eGo from the same supplier is $49:

Smok Tech 510 Ego Kit with Carrying Case

And yes, you could get both of them for less directly from a Chinese suppler.

You have experience with all of ONE model. Just stop with the fabrications.

No "new math" required.
eGo SERIES BATTERIES

Now don't get me wrong, I think the e-power would be an excellent choice, AFTER they get the switch issue sorted out.
Right now the market is flooded with the bad white switches tho'. (the reason that anyone with any common sense stopped suggesting e-powers)

From what I have read, they have fixed that initial issue which by the way, issues are common with all models when they first come out. And I also understand that reputable suppliers stood behind the product and provided replacements.

Well if you could find a passthrough that you can plug into the cigarette lighter and some cartos that would be nice. I would grab a Reo Grand as the carry around as you can use the same 510 accessories. If you have a power inverter you could keep the batteries charged that way. Hard to find a more durable and functional devicedevice

You know very well that is 1 E-Power unit compared to 2 eGo units..now who is the one misleading people here not to mention you're calling me a liar. Here is the E-Power kit that compares to the eGo you posted E-Power Chrome Dual Coil Cartomizer Kit I think you just get your kicks from arguing with people here..maybe you enjoy misleading also..at least I try to be as honest as possible. I'm not a newb as to how to deal with people like you I was around a game forum for years. So call me a liar again. I can tell you I won't bother replying (it will involve a complaint) to it if that gives you a clue...

This is a stupid argument, but I'll throw something in too:D

eGos are a fine PV and they work well, but you really can't try to make the argument that the eGo is cheaper to maintain. If you have one switch fail, battery fail, etc you have to drop another 15 EVERYTIME to replace the whole unit. If you have to do that once or twice, that's def going to be more expensive that an Epower to maintain.
I have an Epower and am still using all my original parts and they work flawlessly. I even have a white LED switch that runs the Ressurectors with no problems, but with that, I know I'm lucky. CCV and Hoosier will both have the fixed switch in the next week to replace the white lED switches that smoktech dropped the ball on and made them not run anything below 2.0ohm.
The Epower kit really isn't any more expensive than an eGo kit. Hoosier sells the kit for $43, which is the same price you can get eGo kits for. The Epower batteries are dirt cheap and you can buy a switch for under $10 shipped.
So on an Epower, if a switch fails, it's $10 to get it going again. If a battery fails, about $5 to get it going again, and the Epower batteries last a lot longer before they need to be replaced.
On an eGo, if a switch fails, $15-20 to replace the whole unit, if a battery needs to be replaced, $15-20 for a whole new unit.
So really there no way that the eGo is cheaper to maintain. I'm not going to get into what parts on what PV are more likely to fail, and how fast, etc, bc ALL pVs like that have failures and duds and occasional problems.
You said you can buy an eGo battery for $15 bucks, well I bought an extra tube for $5.50 and a spare switch for $9.50, so I built a second Epower for $15 bucks too.
If ANY thing goes wrong or breaks, yu have to replace the whole thing and pay that $15-20 all over again.
With my Epower I'm either paying $9.50 if the switch fails, or $5 to replace a battery, not $15-20 regardless of what breaks/fails.

I don't recommend the eGo not bc I don't like it or think its a bad PV, but bc for the same price, why not get a 3.7V PV like a kGo, Riva, or Epower that provides more oomph and handles the lower resistances alot better.

I'm not saying the eGo sucks or is a bad PV because it's not at all. But personally I'd much rather be able to replace individual parts then have to replace the whole unit no matter what goes wrong. And also I'd much rather have a 3.7V PV than a 3.3-3.4V PV. I've used an eGo, kGo, and Epower and think the kGo and Epower give a noticeably better vape bc of the slightly higher voltage. It's not a huge difference, but it's def there. More importantly why I like the 3.7V PVs more is bc I prefer the lower ohm cartos and the 3.7V PVs handle them better.
I don't want to have to wonder if the eGo I get is one that will handle 1.5ohm and 1.7ohm cartos or if it's one that will fry it fairly easily.
No one even used that fact as part of their "argument for affordable PV supremacy"
With an eGo you don't just have to buy a whole new unit if something breaks or you need a replacement battery. You also have to worry about having to replace the whole unit if you use 1.5-1.7ohm cartos bc you potentially could fry the mosfet and turn your eGo into a paperweight.
So the OP, if your thinking about getting an eGo, I would def consider getting a 3.7V PV instead. If your planning on maybe using below 2.0ohm, I think just the fact that you dont have to worry about frying your PV makes it worth it to get a 3.7V over an eGo. Getting a slightly better vape and being able to use a wider range of attys/cartos is just a plus. Their all similar in size, price, battery life, etc so that's why I dont get why eGos are always recommended. Why get an eGo when you can get a 3.7V for the same price?

That kit contains 1 switch-1 case and 2 batteries with a eGo kit I get 2 units that I can use at the same time if I choose. I know your arguments and some of them are valid but there are a lot of things that can go wrong with a E-Power because of having to take it apart to change batteries. 1 E-Power unit cost more than 1 eGo unit..it costs more to produce. Add to the the bad reviews and I'll stick to the eGo as a sealed unit that is pretty low cost. I paid $10 each for my 900mAh eGo units and have been using them for 6 months+ so far...

Look, the ego is no more two kits than the E-Power is. One battery for spare and one for charging just like the E-Power. If you actually used both ego's as two separate models, then you would have to buy at least an extra battery for the ego to make that work when one died. No one looks at it like that and you know that. So who is playing games, now.

I could care less about this stupid argument and im not trying to further state why PV "A" is better than PV "B" but I do have to say that using the "it's only 1 Epower compared to 2 eGo units" as a "plus" for the eGo kit beig a better deal makes absolutely no sense. The only reason you get 2 with the eGo kit is because that's the only way they can give you a backup battery for a proprietary battery PV. The Epower kit comes with 2 batteries as well, you just switch them out obviously.

I'm not writing this comment to say "Ohhh that's a stupid comment, etc". Bc it's not, and if Chrispy Critter likes that he gets 2 units instead of one unit with 2 non-proprietary batteries, then that's great and that's what he likes.

I'm writing this to show the OP that the comment he wrote is absolutely correct. Everyone has their own preferences, and you will get a lot of suggestions, but all that really matters is getting a PV that fits YOUR needs/wants. Honestly, I think what you said was one of the most "un-newb" things you could have said. It doesn't matter what PV other people like and which is better than which. You could get 30 people that suggest to get the same PV, but if that PV doesn't fit your wants and needs, then all those suggestions are worthless and dont mean anything.
This whole Epower vs eGo argument is stupid, and yes I know I'm guilty of throwing my opinion in as well, but when it comes down to it, both the eGo and Epower might not fit your needs, so then who gives a crap which is really better.

Yes this thread/arguement is ridiculous, but I do think it gave some very valuable information and I'm glad you picked up on it. The valuable info isn't what anyone said or suggested, it's what the whole thread made you realize. The best PV is the one that fits YOUR needs and works for YOU.
It's obvious that people are going to suggest what they use/like, but if the suggestion doesn't fit your needs than its worthless.

ChrispyCritter obviously likes the eGo, bc that's what works for HIM.
(sorry I'm using you for this example ChrispyCritter, but it fit well in proving that what's best for one person might not be the bes for another)

He also finds it to be a plus that the eGo kit comes with 2 units, and used that as part of his "argument" why the eGo kit is a better deal than the Epower kit.
But for me, I find that what ChrispyCritter think of as a positive, to be a huge negative. The fact that the Epower kit only came with one unit and you can just switch the battery out is actually one of the big things that made me buy it. I hate that the only way you can carry a spare bAttery with a proprietary battery PV like an eGo,kGo,riva is to carry a second unit with you at all times. I find that really annoying, so thats why the PV i use has a removeable battery, so i dont have to carry a second unit to have a spare. I really like that to carry a spare battery I can just carry a battery that's about the size of a AA and if needed, unscrew the switch and pop it in. So what ChrispyCritter thought of as a negative, I find to be a big positive.
I prefer the Epower bc I can carry one unit and it's easy to throw a spare battery in my pocket or car. I get avg a day to a day and a half on one battery so I never have to worry having a PV with a dead battery. That's also why I don't like slim ecigs, because having to charge every few hours would never work for me. I wanted an easy to use PV that was small enough that I could carry it in my jeans pocket or suit jacket, but could still be fairly maintanace free during the day. And size wise and battery life, the Epower fit my needs perfectly. I can easily carry it in my pocket, the battery lasts long, and it's super easy to carry a backup battery just in case. To keep it maintanace free, I use a 3.5ml carto tank. Right now I have 2 juices I love so I carry 2 3.5ml carto tanks on me, both filled with my all day vapes. I fill them in the morning before I leave for work, and I don't have to worry about refilling or running out a day. I use those tanks bc that's what works for ME. They are big enough that I can vape maintanace free all day, but still small enough that I can have one on my Epower and easily carry it in my pocket, and has the other in another pocket. Other people think why use a 3.5ml tank when you can use a bigger 5-6ml tank and refill even less often, but a bigger tank for me makes the PV too bulky and hard to easily carry in my pocket.
My perfect setup and previous suggestion of getting an Epower, again might not fit any of your needs and wants though.

Sorry, this was so long, but I think you get the point. Why I think this was a dumb argument, I'm glad you realized that everyone has their own preference and you gota find what works for you. everyone has different needs and their idea of a perfect PV, and surprisingly its not always an expensive high-end and/or variable voltage PV. That's why I can't stand when people say to beginning vapers, "just get a Provari" or "you won't get of cigs until you get a VV PV. That might be true for some people, but not everyone needs to drop that much money to finally stop smoking or get a PV they love. Personally I think for all people that don't stop smoking until they drop $200+ on a High-end VV PV, there's just as many that have completely gotten off cigs using an eGo, Epower, kGo type PV and are perfectly content with their setup.

The only other thing I think that was good about this argument, was that it made different people talk about what they like and dislike about various PVs.
I think your best bet is to go through, and see if any of the positives people mentioned about their PV fit into what your looking for in a PV. This ridiculous argument might just help you make a decision. and if not, don't get discouraged. Read as much as you can on ECF and ask as many questions as you need to.
Just remember, your "perfect PV" might be nothing even close to what someone else recommends and considers their "perfect PV"

The risk involved in changing E-Power 14650 batteries is the same as changing batteries on a flashlight. However, for those who can't change flashlight batteries without ruining the flashlight perhaps the E-Power 14650 isn't a good choice.

IDK a lot of sites that sell them don't warranty against cross threading..since they posted that my guess would be people are having a cross threading issue with E-Powers. When you buy most flashlights they sell usually don't list in the description that cross threading isn't warranted. When I read that saw the reviews and prices I thought it wasn't worth it buying this unit and the eGo was a better deal at this time...

I actually carry 3 or 4 e cigs in my pocket sometimes..I just don't like that they are trying to win an argument showing a kit that contains 1 unit comparing it to a 2 unit kit as it's being dishonest to win an argument IMO..you could put together a 1 unit eGo kit in the $20-30 range including a eGo unit, charger and cartomizers. Anyways I'm posting on these forums to try to help people decide on what to buy not to win an argument. I never wanted the argument in the 1st place I just wanted to give my honest opinion.

I have since blocked the person I feel was using dishonesty to win the argument..I can't stand dishonest people. That's a nice option on this site new users should learn..when you block someone here you don't have to read there posts anymore so you can totally ignore them.
