Vendors that is. I always wish I could do something when I read about a new convert enjoying vaping and dropping the analogs just to find that the poor uninformed nooB found an unscrupulous ****** going nuts with a price gun! Here in the dallas area we have folks charging $39.99-49.99 for a "mini" or "basic" starter kit. The "kit" is a generic ego 650mah battery, charging cable, wall charger, and 2 clearos. 1 battery, 1! Basic black or white. I have seen this more than once. Please folks look around don't give up on the e cigarette just because of a couple of bad eggs. It took my wife teaching me to bargain hunt to show me this.... is a buyers market.

Very true, but I've seen far worse deals than that. I agree that $40 for a single battery kit is rather expensive but if it's a brick and mortar outfit I'd actually be a bit more willing to pay that kind of price if I needed the kit and didn't feel like waiting on shipping, cause you can get a second battery for $6 off fasttech or something. What gets me is places selling cigalikes for $80-$100, I'm not talking mall kiosks either, I've seen 'reputable' online retailers selling at those prices. Granted, a tiny bit of research would show many better deals, but I got sucked in, paid $80 for a pair of KR808s and 5 cartos along with a charger and non-PCC case. Now that I know about my options, well, forget that..but as a new vaper, I got sucked in by the pretty website and the claims that they were the best thing since sliced bread.

Basically, the take-away here is to shop around, do some research, ask questions here, and hope that newbies stumble on this forum before pulling the trigger on any kind of 'starter kit' bundles from just about anywhere, cause all the big names tend to be massively overpriced on cigalikes and even Egos.

If it get's one off analogs it's worth the price you paid for it. But most will find that is cheap compared to what they ultimately spend till the stop having to buy the latest and greatest. lmao. Still not there, but almost, yeah right.

This is also a valid point, those cigalikes got me off the deathsticks, so I can't say I'm mad about paying that much, but for those on tight budgets, blowing $100 on a cigalike that doesn't do the job for a PAD/2PAD smoker is kinda a big deal. I was a very light smoker so the cigalikes did me just fine, but I know a lot of folks on here ended up moving right up the ladder to Egos, VW mods, etc.

Ha, ha, ha, so tru...so true even with bargain hunting it's so easy for my urges to get me. I bet I have 100 ml of juice I'll never vape and clearo's jeez.

I have not seen the cigalikes at those prices online but it doesn't surprise me....actually yeah it does. That's some cold hearted ****, that's why I wonder how many people see that without seeing any other option for comparison and just don't try it. There have been times in my life when a $100 for anything other than food or rent was like...wow not this month or two or...(thank goodness I learned how to herd the *urd)
Guess what I am....no! Not that Joe the......

Picked up an 808 kit on a recommendation. Once you are into the hobby for awhile and learn the secret language, etc. you develop the knowledge of bad - good - better - best and upgrade. Fifty bucks for a kit that works with minimum fuss got me off the coffin nails! Well worth it. Now I'm seriously looking at a Provari. Now taking advantage of a newbie and charging a hundred dollars for a thirty dollar kit is just theft!
