i bet it's pretty slow for you then:(

Actually, it isn't, Tybin. It was excruciatingly slow in IE 8, it was a bit faster with the In-Private browsing block, but IE 9 is surprisingly fast. With my setup, it's faster than Chrome. But those jumping buttons are giving me seizures....

:D

Well, Roly will find a solution, I'm sure... Some kind of option to disable those buttons from ECF. I'm just going to wait patiently and try not to nag. You know, no pressure. Administration is so busy nowadays.....

In-Private browsing blocks history too. I use history - a lot. I've been using IE9 since beta and while it's fast, the facebook and google plus loading slows things down noticeably.

For IE9 try this, it might at least speed up your browser a bit:

Tools > Safety (or directly to tracking protection) > Tracking Protection > click on Your Personalized List > Enable > Settings > change the : Show content from providers .... to 3 > click Automatically Block > OK > Close

-------------------------------------

There's also lists you can download. I haven't tried any of them. Be advised, if you try a list download, only have one active, as they can clash. [Including with your personalized list.]

if you really must be rid of the buttons and can live without facebook, google +, and twitter you could always edit the hosts file.
If Roly doesn't get the coders to do a workaround (disable option) I'll do a tutorial on how to block them through the hosts file. It is not as hard as people would think.

Kent, I think Katya meant to say In Private Filtering. [It's extremely difficult to communicate whilst crying and experiencing seizures.] The In Private Filtering (it's in IE8 not IE9) adjustment does not affect history.

I tried using the InPrivate Browsing and things definitely loaded faster. I also created a Firewall rule Blocking ALL traffic between Twitter / Facebook and that seemed to help also. Not quite as fast as it used to be but a good work-around.

Of course, if I turn off Active Scripting in IE things load at Light Speed. But you also loose quite a bit of functionality.
