if you really must be rid of the buttons and can live without facebook, google +, and twitter you could always edit the hosts file.
If Roly doesn't get the coders to do a workaround (disable option) I'll do a tutorial on how to block them through the hosts file. It is not as hard as people would think.

Oh PLEASE!

Kent, I think Katya meant to say In Private Filtering. [It's extremely difficult to communicate whilst crying and experiencing seizures.] The In Private Filtering (it's in IE8 not IE9) adjustment does not affect history.

Got ya. In reading a bit more it seems the code for using Google plus on web sites was screwed up by google itself which slows the loading and there are fixes available on the net for it. My ad muncher will eventually rid me of the 'virus', and those in OWS can still see the latest Grimm Green video

BTW, I got rid of the facebook like button with Ad Muncher by right clicking on the forum home page and using 'remove link' option, then chosing 'remove scripts with text'. Don't know what else it affects at this point but so far haven't noticed any problem. Google plus is still there, along with the delay.... With Ad Muncher you can remove twitter by simply right clicking and 'remove the link'.

We now have a way to remove most of the social buttons. It disables the Google +1, Twitter and FB Likes buttons if you choose to do so.

In your Settings >> General Settings >> scroll down to the bottom -- there is now an option to disable Social Buttons.

Try that please.

We can't get rid of the FB Connect as it is now integrated with the forum.

Did the "Disable Social Buttons" routine and the pages seem to load a little faster now... thanks! :)

There's still a Facebook "like" button that pops up just below the "Reply to Thread" button near the top of the page, and page loading seems to stall before that particular button appears. If that could be eliminated also I think we'd be golden.
