So? Some information about closing the G-tread?

I may be rummaging far too deep in the grey from lack of sleep, but want to convey my belief that willfully allowing so much unchecked angst to run amok is tantamount to sadism. Even if and when the silencing of one of this forum's citizens has justifiable cause, it could be made known to all affected with only a betterment of the outcome as a result. Where there is an obvious gathering of the disaffected, such as within this thread, there is opportunity. To be honest, this doesn't include me aside from my soaking in the prevalent atmosphere. Yeah; I just caught a big pail of it right in the vape hole.

The victors may dictate the history books, but there is always a lingering sadness in the countryside which cannot be erased. And smoldering ashes can flare up even after a good rain. Please don't make this less; it's awesome. Isn't it?

I'm not involved with the Co-Op, but this thread reminds of me of a similar situation I ran into. Although I created a user ID here some time ago, I only recently started participating on ECF after leaving a forum where I was actively involved. The moderators starting modifying posts and even deleting whole threads like crazy over there. Too many times I'd be actively participating in a thread and it would just disappear. Became frustrating for me so I quit going there. Hope there isn't too much of that nonsense going on here as well. Unreasonable moderation can make a forum uninhabitable. Of course, too little moderation can be a problem too.

What MrJaguar says is true. No talk of money on this G Tank Genisis thread. I emailed the mod on why thuis happenned and they are reviewing this and they will try to help but i am trying to explain to them that this was a CO-OP or started as such and STURM didnt go thru the proper channels.

Please dont mention money on here. The mods closed it cause they say he was selling a product. I am trying to tell the mods that STURM is not making any profit and only his TURNER is. I also stated that Raidy is the inventor of the Genisis and he doesnt allow any profit. so with all that said how can STURM be making any profit? you get my point.
Im sure the mods are watching this thread so please NO money talk. We are trying to get STURM reinstated and i am asking them to please let ius have our G Tank Thread back being no more money is exchanging hands.

After reading this entire thread just now, and having been a part of this G-Tank, I have to agree with what Cos stated above. Strum being new didn't do what so many of us as being new members here at ECF didn't do ( Read and fully understand the rules of ECF ) Therefore the Moderator in question did what they would do to anyone else who started a CoOp without the permission of the Moderator who grants the approval of a CoOp. However, I think we should at least give the moderators of this forum the chance to discuss this in hopes of a reconciliation with a positive outcome for all involved there pretty dam good people, and do one helluva job running this forum.

As of now I am not going to close this thread, but take this as a blanket reminder that "Please address complaints about ECF staff or how the forum is run directly to the Moderators or AngusATAT (forum manager) rather than in the general forum." is a rule that all, to include moderators, follow. I will however offer up this information.

The "modders sub-forum" was intended for people to share their DIY creations, whether it's for the expectation of receiving KUDOS or offer assistance with other modder's projectsand open sourcing. The intent was never for utilizing it as a stepping stone for monetary gain. Now, we are realistic, and know that there are times where a modification/creation comes becomes popular, and it gradually leads to a small "business venture" (even if it is at cost), but we still have the requirement for requesting approval and/or the requirement to go through a registration process. This isn't anything new, and we have members that started off sharing their ideas, and then went through the proper procedures PRIOR, to crossing over. We also have many that come for the sole purpose of advertising their "future product" and this is where actions are made by our volunteer moderators.

We are here to try to keep the forum clean and organized for the group of members that it the sub-forum was intended for. It is true, that we don't catch everything, which is expected in such a huge forum. It is also true that threads could come off in a way that it wasn't intended to be, but there is always a means of contacting Administration, even for the member actions are taken upon. Nothing is irreversible, but protection from possible hidden agendas that compromise the integrity of the community is a must.
So my advise is to let everything run its course and if something is kosher it will be resolved with proper communication. (This is a general statement not specific).

In the Modder/Accessories Supplier Forum, is the registration requirements different than regular suppliers and do the same very strict rules (ie: posting in other forums, PMs and generally yucking it up in the more social threads) apply?

Right, if you are a modder/accessory supplier, I believe you can't post in the newbies forum & you can't post in other subforums unless you have permission from that forum moderator.

Also, I was told that as a family member you are not allowed to post in your family member's modder/supplier thread AT ALL (even to answer a general question like "what kind of batteries would this use?" you are not allowed to answer "18650"). Although I see it done constantly with one particular small scale supplier on this forum.

Just stay a modder & mod. It's just easier. If you want to make a profit off your mod, there are other outlets than this to sell/promote your product.

I did talk to STURM yesterday, all is well & as planned.

I read the supplier rules and from what I gather, it's only supplier subforums other than your own where you are not allowed to reply without permission. The only other restricted area is the new members forum. Of course, you're not allowed to discuss your products anywhere but your supplier forum. There's also a yearly fee, but it's pretty reasonable. I don't see any major handicap there.

Cos & I have spoken to Strum by email and all is cool as of now. We are going to keep in touch with him and make post here if we have anything that he wants Evey body to know as well as any body else that may speak to him by all means post any communications here as well. This way the thread stays clean and we all get good communications and know whats going on, sound good as of now ?

MWA this sounds good to me. Hopefully everyone that has some interest in the G Tank will post in here and we will do same. I spoke to ECF mods as well as MWA and they are good people and they tried to help STURM from the getgo. so no more ECF posts in here. we have some great modders and all of us have this great oppurtunity with these attys with people from all over the world. so much talent. anyway i just wanted to back up mwa post as we both spoke to the moderators and we both plus everyone else wants this G Tank thread opened. The people who still have no doubt as to who this person actually is - I'm not saying he was trying to rip anyone off, I'm also not saying he wasn't. For those who say, and seem very totally certain that he is trustworthy (with no reason for it, just naive) - need to very much wise up. If you yourself were being questioned as to whether you were trying to make a profit on a coop and you weren't, why go through all the trouble of NOT posting a quote online.
