I don't think its OT but along the lines of explosives, are flashlights allowed in carry on or checked luggage? and if you could rig explosives in a PV or even a detonator, couldn't the same thing be done with a cell phone or ipad? Geez, I don't know if this is against forum rules come to think of it. If so, I'm sorry. Its an area I never paid attention to.

Isn't the FBI somehow associated with Homeland Security? I wonder if they are looking into the possibility of carry on mods being rigged as an explosive device for passenger airplanes? Scarry thought.

But in that case wouldn't they be eyeing all electronic devices? Is there something about a mod that would make better bombs than a little MP3 player or cell phone?

I too think it's something local, and that kinda scares me.

The main guy kept asking another employee about how the filament in the atomizer worked. She compared it to a light bulb and he said, "so it applies heat evenly over a resistance wire" and she asked if he was a vaper. He asked a few more really weird questions, then she said this wasn't "that" kind of store, and that's when he flashed his ID.

Thay have been pulling this since I can remember.

It was 1975 a pinata' party they asked to "borrow" the pinata so they could xray it.

Never saw them again..

Thats a rather strange story since the Chinese find every single hidden battery in mods trying to evade xray---so I figure the feds should have battery in metallic item tech since the 70's.. Must be a props for a conference..

An apv, like a mech doesn't require anything that would ring any bells with security to formulate something. A shorted battery is a small and simple improvised explosive device part.

maybe they are investigating an incident that has already happened ... and that B&M is where the gear came from.

This makes the most sense for the fbi to roll up in there the way they did..

Not lying. (If this is against TOS, delete this thread!) I work in a B&M and they asked if they could take several mods (ed: both regulated and mechanical) and ego batteries to have them x-rayed. I can't go further than that, but wow, the FBI! It was kinda exciting! It was like the movies and T.V. shows! They really DO all look like that, with the suits and everything!
Don't believe this for a minute. Either this is a troll or somebody has been fooled. The FBI raiding a B&M in Dayton, Ohio, lol. I can believe the FBI might be investigating vaping devices, in which case they would purchase said devices on the down-low, probably online.

I think I will take some x-rays of my eVic next week, along with a couple different toppers. Wont help the FBI solve any crimes but I may be able find out why some Kangers leak, get a good look at the silicon insulator tightened down on a 510 connection.

I'll post the images, industrial x-ray has gone digital so easy to save the images as jogs.

Remember the Underwear Suicide Bomber who set himself on fire when his homemade bomb went awry on a plane?

I suspect this B & M investigation by the FBI has some ties to this situation. A mod could be rigged to set itself off with the right kind of explosive (liquid?).

I predict e-cigs will soon be banned as carry-on devices on air flights.
