This has probably been asked before...It looks like this new phenomenom is basically geared and pointed to smokers as an alternative to quit....So say you are successful in quiting smoking and its time to put the vape down. How long are we looking at to continue vaping? Does anyone know of anyone that has quit smoking analogs and vaping? Inquiring mind wants to know......

Yes there are many who have quit using ecigs. I read an article, referanced in the forum here somewhere, that the success rate for those wanting to quit and using the ecig was well over 50%, way above other quit methods.

Many choose to use it as a better way to "smoke" without all the 4000 chemicals in real cigs and may not wish to quit vaping at all.

I agree that if I knew about this when I originally attempted to quit smoking, I probably would have saved myself tons of money and a lot of aggravation. But, that was not my question, Was looking for someone who has quit smoking analogs and vaping....

One of our long standing members just put all of his supplies up for sale in the classified section. Many do quit vaping, and many choose to keep their habit in a less harmful manner. Some have quit smoking and vaping and use snus and/or snuff for their nicotine needs. It's all a matter of personal preference. Whatever works for you.:)

If you look at the polls, it's somewhere above 82% of people responding that have completely stopped using combustible cigs (including me, 14 weeks without smoking a cigs). Three's also a percentage of people that vape 0 mg, or very low nicotine (not me though). The people who've completely stopped vaping tend not to stay around on the forum, but I've seen a few farewell posts.

I'm glad to avoid the tar, arsenic, etc., etc. in combustible cigs. That's enough for me right now. I can see myself, maybe, slowly cutting down the nicotine and weaning myself off- but very, very slowly if at all. I'm not convinced that nicotine alone is such a horrible thing.

BTW, there's a move to shift the guidelines for NRTs to use for up to 6 months after smoking cessation. Wonder if that will help that route to have better success than it currently does

I'd venture to say that those who've quit also may no longer feel the need to hang out on the forum as much afterwards either. I've seen a few that have sold all their stuff in the short couple of months I've been around myself and many that still vape for the enjoyment but at 0 nic. At stated... whatever works for you.
