Plumes - most of the world lives on a dollar a day. Most of us on the board spend a dollar a day or more on our vaping supplies alone. Even the poorest amongst us are affluent. To answer your question about why - the farther away from survival you are, the more you can indulge in hyper awareness of the subtleties of experience and choice.

This little mod cost $2.20 to make, and any school kid could make one in shop class.

Cartos cost $1.45 each and batteries -$4.
So a person doesn't have to be rich to vape because that whole deal is equal to the price of one pack of cigarettes.

Having been in the military, and having traveled to many places in the world, I can attest that we are a rich nation, we may think we're not, but even our destitute are better off than the affluent in many other nations.

Well, I didn't say every country. In the Philippines for example, you are the elite, or you are the pauper, no in between. Ever been to China?

Ego style batteries and vivi novas.

I rebuilt 15 atomizer heads for it yesterday, took maybe an hour and a half if you subtract the numerous interruptions that characterize my life. Easier to rebuild than my phoenix once you get the hang of it and develop a technique for avoiding shorts.

I don't feel the need to make it more complicated than this. I don't need a $200 device, I don't need this finicky atomizer that i have to prime, prep, oxidize, make a virgin sacrifice in honor of, and say a charm and turn thrice widdershins before I use it.

Hey, Plumes, and some of us don't even know what u are talking about!!! LOL

But, after reading that post and then that response... I couldn't help but think "wow... people are getting REALLY picky. WOW" lol. I mean, we really are getting REALLY picky. Some of us won't even buy a rba atomizer that costs under 150 dollars? Where they HELL did this pickiness and specificness come out of?? Having to buy silver wire to mix with your kanthal wire?? lmao.

However that said to your questions:
1 I am picky about clearo's - love em and only vape carto's when I am totally absolutely desperate!!
    2. Love my Volt, eGO and KGO vv with clearo
    3. Most importantly love a good flavoursome EJuice with a little hit of Nic!!

    Cheers and carry on Vaping!

I wish it were simpler, too. And I have probably become way more picky than even I'd like. I don't have real exotic gear. Just some eGo batteries, a Vivi Nova tank, and a bunch of 1.8 ohm cartos. But I always seem to be on that quest for the Holy Grail. I look for a setup that gives a good flavor, excellent vapor production, long battery life, good throat hit but won't dry my throat out, yada yada yada. Hell, I can tell the difference when I change from an eGo passthrough battery to an eGo twist set at the same 3.7v. I just want something that is as brainless and consistent as lighting an analog. I don't need another thing to geek out over! I'm too much of a geek as it is.

I've only been vaping for about two months, and not a single cig since that day. I was in the EXACT same place about two weeks ago. My brain was swimming. I had two egos, and two ego twists. Battery life was driving me crazy, rotating chargers, clearomizers, juices, carto tanks, filling Cartos..... Then, I found a juice I loved. Sinthol. Cinnamon and menthol. I thought I was supposed to try tons of juices and rotate them so I didn't get bored...but I always smoked the same thing....so why am I trying so hard to be different? If I get bored, THEN I'll try something else. Lol. The best thing I ever did, was order a silver bullet. Battery lasts all day and into the next... Or through it if I want, and it just simplifies it. No vv, no guessing. I know it's gonna work, and not just work, but be great every time. I also gave up on carto tanks.....I had to change Cartos every three or four days, and it was stressful, making sure I had plenty (since I don't have a vape shop close...) so I started using the Vivi nova. One head lasts FOREVER, and you can replace them for CHEAP when they do give up the ghost...plus, it comes with three, so your set for a few months!!!
That's it for me. One juice you love (seriously try sinthol by niquid), one silver bullet, and a large (easy to fill and maintain) vivi nova tank.

Jumbo 1.7 ohm or ego mega 1.5 ohm cartos + Kgo or Bolt or Ego-T passthrough...all I need. My mom did get me an Evic for Christmas and I'm excited just because of the much larger battery life and being able to know my carto resistance. Definitely could go without it and be perfectly happy, though. When it comes to juice I enjoy more variety than I do with hardware.

Sorry epic fail on my post. I was laughing about the Bluetooth mod that twiggy was talking about. I can't even post in a forum right so yeah I like simple. I have a reo grand. It runs on a 18650 battery and carries the juice on board. I threw a 2.0 ohm atomizer on it and its running like a champ. As durable and simple as it gets.

IDK. If you want to skip reading everything above, fine. I just want to ask this these TWO questions:
1.) If you ARE picky: What are the MOST picky quirks that you have? What can you NOT do without?
2.) If you AREN'T picky at all: Whats your ultra simplified set-up? Do you prefer a 510 with a 2.5 ohm carto.. etc.. etc... I just wanna know your quirks whether ur ulta picky or ultra simplified?

    1. Picky quirks...nichrome 80/20...can't live without it.

    2. And at the same token, my favorite setup is simple....3ohm boge in a phiniac tank on a mod that can run 6V.

AWESOME responses guys. Awesome. This is a little bump. But I'll also add some to the conversation... I have a couple favorite set-ups. Anyone else like this? Like, now that I do have what I do have... I couldn't see myself without what I have. lol. I'm sure if I never bought the PVs that I've purchases... Id be fine, but its like having a cell phone after years of just having a beeper (i'm too young to be a part of that group, but this is like that, i think? lol) Like, I'm SURE i'd be totally and completely happy with a nice eGo kit. Maybe I would have just bought one of those eGo kits that comes with clearomizers... I've seen a couple eGo kits come with two 650mah eGo batteries, two vivi nova minis, OR two kanger T3's or T4's, and then the charger, whatever.... Yknow?

I'm SURE i'd be TOTALLY HAPPY with that kit. I'm sure I'd still be vaping on it to this day. I'm sure that type of kit makes MANY new vapers very happy. I'm sure of it... But if I JUST had that kit... I wonder if I'd of bought all the awesome mods that I have today... I kept thinking that the cig look-alikes were IT. I kept buying 510 battery kits thinking "ehhh, I can make do with these and NOT feel like a total weirdo with friends and family... I dont NEED a big bat mod" and those little dinky 510 kits kept breaking on me, or they kept disappointing me. I started with those kits TWICE. TWICE. and then I'd go back to cigarettes because no matter WHAT configuration of juice flavor, nicotine concentration, whatever... No matter WHAT I used with those dinky little batteries, I kept thinking that cigarettes were ultimately just a teeeny bit more satisfying. Cigarettes are just a teeeny bit better. The throat hit is just a teeeny bit better. So I kept going back to cigarettes. BOTH TIMES that I went BACK TO VAPING after relapsing with cigarettes... Those 510 batteries wouldn't work. BOTH TIMES. BOTH TIMES I came back to vaping, my 510 batteries were broken?? Maybe they stop working if you let them sit? Guess so.

SO, I eventually got myself one of the 1st lavatubes. It was a great device. It looked horrible. I hated how it looked. It was so big. It was so ugly. The button placement and the way the buttons looked was so ugly and they looked and felt SO cheap. Even the firing button felt and looked cheap... But honestly, when I unwrapped that lavatube... I knew that big battery mods were going to be my new love. I knew it. Unwrapping that lavatube made me feel soo happy, it made me feel sooo good. Instantly, I thought "This thing is COOL" but I also instantly thought "wow this is uglier than I imagined it" lol.

From that lavatube I bought an unregulated 18650 mod. And then, my lavatube BROKE and I was stuck with the unregulated mod, with 3+ ohm cartos. That was the WORST ahaha. That was such a test for me. And yeah, I smoked a bit... But I had a bunch of money saved up and I got myself a VV mod.

So thats why I don't have an eGo or a kit of eGo batteries and I own a bunch of big battery mods instead. I finally did get an eGo somewhere in there, but guess what? THE EGO BATTERY BROKE. I STEPPED ON IT. The 510 batteries broke on their own. But NO big battery mod (including the eGo) broke on its own. It was always user error. It was always MY error. lol. So, I have to say, big battery mods are where I'll always tend to lean. Always.

So I'm not simplistic in that area. I need my eGos, or my big battery mods. I could never just have a 2 or 3 or four 510 batteries. Hell no.
Anyone reading this OK with only using 510 batteries, or 808d or the super 510-T 3.7v regulated batteries, or the regulated 3.7v VOLT (808d) bats?
