So... Those of you that feel vaping is becoming WAY too complicated... What do YOU use?

IDK. If you want to skip reading everything above, fine. I just want to ask this these TWO questions:
1.) If you ARE picky: What are the MOST picky quirks that you have? What can you NOT do without?
2.) If you AREN'T picky at all: Whats your ultra simplified set-up? Do you prefer a 510 with a 2.5 ohm carto.. etc.. etc... I just wanna know your quirks whether ur ulta picky or ultra simplified? [/B]

I am less picky than your not picky so far, as are most of the people who smoke simple VOLT PVs. I have five 808 style batts, all sealed auto bats, and a couple dozen cartos by two manufacturers, and three Kanga clearos. Period.

My simple set-up and I haven't strayed since I got it. An eGo 1000maH battery, with a Vivi Nova.

Simple, easy to use, easy peasy. I have no desire for anything else. I can see how this can get very
complicated and expensive, but I never got into this to blow my money, I wanted to quit smoking and
save money - and I'm happy. The only thing complicated is the different juices I like to try. :D

I'm picky in an ultra simplified way... lol!

My Ego-T was too heavy and cumbersome and I much prefer my 510 with standard resistance cartomisers. I wouldn't have it any other way! Friends keep recommending larger ecigs (one is desperate for me to get a Provari just so he can see it- he doesn't smoke or vape!) but I really don't want to! I love my 510 with carts because I have my PCC so I never, ever go without! It also means that it feels ergonomically lovely and with an automatic battery, I can just hold it in my mouth and go. Dripping repeatedly into the cart isn't a problem as I'm used to rolling my own anyway so fiddling about is beneficial. The only downside is my uncle says I look like Cruella DeVille! Lol!x

Hehehe I was a "Make YO Own Cigarettes!!" kind of smoker too Rachy_B.
I used to little plastic machines with the tubes and the big ol' bags of tobacco.
But even those dern bags of tobacco were too expensive for me.
I couldn't justify spending $30 on a big bag of tobacco... I just COULD NOT justify it.
So, my mom would always end up buying me the tobacco because when I didn't have cigs.. hoooo... lmao.

But yeah, I made my own cigarettes too, and I think the same way. I always think thats why I'm cool w/ dripping.
I love dripping. Hell, I'm realllly getting the hang of it now. And it tastes 100x better than any other method.

I'm probably about as simple and non-complicated as they come. About 18 months ago, I bought 3 all-mechanical PV's, a 10-year supply of cartos, two AW16670 batteries and a Pila charger. It's now 18 months later and I'm still on the same setup with no desire to change.

My DIY juices are simple for the most part too. Most are the single flavor type from TPA and Capella.

I guess vaping has become like a pair of old shoes to me now ... so routine and comfortable that I don't think much about it. I still come here though because the people are so great.

I think vaping is like anything else in life. Are you on a different forum asking people why they own a smart phone when there are children starving? Some people are happy without a cell phone or with a basic phone that lets them make calls while others want one with all the bells and whistles and they use all the apps and functions the phone offers. My husband was given a phone by his company and had it for six months before he realized he could go on the internet with it. He just doesn't do technology well. I, on the other hand, have my phone synced with my laptop and my Ipad and use most of the bells and whistles on all of them. Some people will sleep on the sidewalk to be in line for the newest version of a smartphone when the one they already own works perfectly and the new one doesn't offer much more. I'm not one of those people, but I don't judge them for their choice. It's their choice.

There are days when I feel like trying lots of new juices and filling tanks and rebuilding attys and that's when I use my provari or my twist. And then there are days when I don't have the patience to fiddle and that's why I bought an e-Roll. I'd like to get the best flavor with lots of vapor and good battery life, but mostly I just want whatever will keep me from ever smoking again. It's been seven months and so far, whatever I'm doing is working, so it's worth it.

Whenever there is new technology in any field, there will be people chasing the next best thing--not just with e-cigs, but also phones, appliances, computers, tvs, energy sources, etc. I don't think it's something to feel guilty about because if there weren't consumers willing to pay to try the latest thing, innovators wouldn't bother trying to improve upon what's already out there and those improvements and innovations in one field often spawn improvements and innovations in other fields that help more people. For instance, a technology developed for an e-cig might end up making rescue inhalers more effective for people who need them.

I poured through the posts on here as a newbie and yes, it can be very overwhelming. I still don't understand a lot of the jargon and I don't re-wick or use coil wire because that's just not for me. Hopefully, newbies can sort through the posts and take what they need and leave the rest for the dedicated fiddlers. And more power to the dedicated fiddlers because their fiddling has given the e-cig suppliers ideas and solutions that have made using e-cigs more enjoyable and less of a hassle for the rest of us.

idk if i am picky but my setup is 3 types of mechanical button mods {2 are tube mods and the other is a yellow box mod) and a usb 510 vv passthrough. Plus some 3 VoltX2 one is auto and 2 are manuals and finally 3 V2 auto's that I let people use to see what it is like to vape. The V2 brand is what I started with and i still love there carts :) I don't like using V2 batteries now but did for about 3 months then I wanted to see what the different batteries would be like. I found through trial and error my (for now) perfect vaping equipment.Okay I am kinda picky LOL

My favorite juice is anything I make with DIY liquids. Fav things to put it in is clearos or carts.

So, all that i am buying now is liquids, carts, clearo's and looking into wraps for some BLING...

eta: I still like looking at all the new mods and things and love watching youtube reviews. I also still like going in the online stores to see what they have and their prices.

My miniature beast of burden :) This looks simple but can be a pain on the refill factor :) Do like my tank.

I once posted in here about 2 years ago that I think we "ex-smokers" are experiencing OCD as a result of some type of long lasting withdrawal from one of the nasty chemicals we no longer exposes ourselves to. I was never like this before when I smoked but I have noticed that I obsess over everything relating to my new found hobby.

Notice I said hobby. I was not looking for a new hobby, I still don't want a new hobby, I don't even know if I like this hobby because it cost a chit load of cash. LOL
But.... I have to call my obsession a hobby because there is no other way to describe the things I do and buy relating to vapping.
I did and still do get a satisfying vape from my little Ego 650's outfitted with my little Vision Extreme Mini's loaded with my Favorite juice. Sadly I only use this set-up when I'm out in the woods hunting or riding my Motorcycle or Kayaking. (Did I mention the fact I don't need another hobby)

The crazy truth is that I now run around with my full sized 18650 Provari outfitted with a D20 DID (not a clone) packed full of my favorite juice ALL the time now. People that have known me as a vaporer for years are now looking at me strangely when they see my JUMBO sized crack pipe thingy-ma-job hanging out of my shirt pocket. (yeah... it doesn't fit to well) lol

My wife even laughs at me while I'm setting at the kitchen table for hours playing around with different wick materials and wire/coil set-ups trying to find the perfect rig. She just walks by with her little 650 Ego and Vision Extreme Mini and blows plumes of vapor in my face and laughs. :(

So yup... My search for the perfect APV setup is never ending which is annoying at times but I can at least take comfort in the fact that I have found my perfect juice (BWB Casa). At least this part simplifies my life a little. LOL

Oh... and Plumes, get some sleep. LOL

I guess I consider myself something of a "bare essential" type. Yes, I ventured into numerous things over the past 14 months or so...tried different tank systems, cartomizers/clearomizers, VV, All have their place...but I've narrowed things down to basics that work for me.
I discovered that I don't really "need" VV, and, in fact rarely use the feature. About the most "variable voltage" I want/need is the eGo T Mod, which can switch from 3.4v to unregulated. That's good enough for me. I discovered I'd rather use an APV or "mod" that I can simply replace the batteries rather than the whole device if something dies. I also figured out I was attracted to things that were "fixable" with cleanable/repairable/replaceable parts...thus mechanicals were a natural progression for me. I do tend to bore easily so I do like a few options in my PVs. Soooo...

I have a select few PVs that I now use pretty much exclusively while my piles of other stuff, including the Twist, kGo VV, LavaTube and assorted eGos, etc. lay in a box neglected. I really like the eGo T Mod. Everything can be replaced...including the switch...cheap. And it works. I can change up colors, too. I also favor highly the Smok Telescope and the LavaFire...both mechanical, and multi-size. Heavy and rugged, plus good looking. I love my little 3.7 Gripper for going out in public. Solid little guy that feels good in the hand and vapes fantastic. Finally for fun and being small and light, I enjoy playing with my MV 3.7 box mod...got it on sale for about $15 so I view it as just a novelty for S&G. My preferred voltage level is between 3.4 and 3.7.

For juice delivery systems...I've pretty much settled on cartotanks. I DIY my juice and only vape menthol...so I don't have to worry about if my ohm or volts are right for my flavor. I created that flavor to be best with 2ohm to 2.5ohm resistance on 3.7volts. My juice recipe is such that the "batting" in cartomizers has no adverse effect on the flavor. I like Ikenvape and Boge cartomizers in my cartotanks (I punch 2 holes even though my juice is light and 85% PG, due to being a chain vaper)..and Smoketech for non-tank straight carto vaping. I use single coils. I have no interest in RBAs and zero interest in clearomizers or wick tank systems of any kind. Direct dripping is not for me.

That's about it.

I use one setup that works extremely well for me.

My Provari V2 with a Phiniac tank and a Smoktek pre-punched 2 hole carto at 2.0ohms and Alien Visions Hype. Not interested in changing it up cause it just works :)

Thats pretty simple isnt it?

Yes it is. Getting my first tank has made me really start to think about going Provari. Knowing that I can crank up the voltage and not have to worry about flooding or if my device is to weak to get the liquid vaporizing correctly :) It has a good battery life so I wouldn't have to drag around my chargers or craptons of back ups.

I am pretty bare essentials right now myself: 2 1000 Mah Ego Twist, a Vivi Nova 2 ml, and an atty. I like this set u and plan on using it for awhile. I started out using a Volt X2 and when I wanted to try VV someone loaned me a mini Lavatube and was not impressed at all. So now I have my Twist and love it. I do plan on trying a few other more "advanced" pieces of equipment but I am more into spending money on liquids right now. I love trying new flavors and new vendors. I will try diy eventually due to this fact but am not in a hurry yet. I don't mind paying others for their hard work and creativity till I know what I like the best.

vmax and a emdcc carto and way way too much juice. I like to keep it simple and not have to top off all the time. I load about 4 cartos, take a couple sets of batteries, take my lil juice carrier, and I am good for the day

I ventured into tanks and I do own a rba (gonna take it to a vape meet before I try it alone) I have tried dripping, and own dcas but have came back to my honker cartos. it's not the best vape, but it works right now until I figure out something better.

I am with you on the cartos. Once you get used to them and maintain them it is easy. Plus they taste better than a cigarette.

See this thread is turning out to be a cool one.

We'll learn all about different people's special set ups, the ones that are either really weird, or mismatched, or SIMPLE. :) There are alll different types of people and all different types of set-ups.

Hmph... I think I've already written my favorite (simple) set-up, but I'll come backn contribute again.

By way too complicated I think of the models coming out that interface with the computer. All else is just options for people to try. RBAs is for people with some talent though but a good idea as an option for people who love to be independent. More and more people these days as far as I can tell.
I use the Vamo on Watt function RMS mode, a pyrex tank and a few different replacement cartomizers. The replacement cartomizers is the thing I keep checking out to see if there are better and more consistent ones. I don't think it's too complicated to have a ohm checker and volt checker when dealing with that kind of stuff.
Do be less complicated I have on order a box mod called Flair. It's 3.7 small thing and it's so unique. In the meantime I bought a telescoping mod 3.7 volt but it is kick capable in brass, yeah JUST before precision t manufacturing showed their brass one!) mine was 1/2 the price and so I feel good about it. If that new Precise comes with a kick built in I will probably get that one and it was mentioned its an idea they are working on. Anyway. I don't think these devices are complicated and I appreciated beautiful well designed things over disposable stuff. And I do dispose of disposable stuff. I've tried boiling and cleaning and they end up in the trash basically now once the draw is dumb and flavor too off.

Well, it seems some people have more money than they do sense. I'm broke, so I won't be getting a $150 RBA any time soon. I did take a chance on spending $40 for one one those new fan-dangled Joyeteck eVic's.

Right now, my Twist and IBTanked suit me fine. I get vape from it, and it keeps me away from the stinkies (or insert your own favorite term here). It also seems that if one doesn't own what THEY have, you've got nothing.

Wonder if you ever got some sleep Plumes.1? I forgot to ad I use a 510 joye tech and a HH.357 atty for my first vape of the mooring and in between for some really satisfying throat hit, vapor and flavor. I'd do that all day but it's special and not convenient. Guess I need to explore the attomizer Tank systems but waiting til they get any bugs out

Just to clarify. My rba cost 19.99 and if I am in state of no money ( which happens on and off all my life so why would it change) I will not have to buy Atties and pay shipping.
