Soliciting business on Skype

Could someone clarify whether vendors are permitted to solicit business via the Skype details given here on ECF?

I've just had a smok Tech representative contact me. I thought at first it was because of the melting, cracking carto issue I posted about, but he proceeded in a sales pitch, trying to send me smok's new price catalogue.
I said was was just an end consumer, and he said it was not for end consumers, and he thought I was a vendor.
He clarified that he got my Skype from ECF. I don't mind talking to anyone who wants to skype me, but don't like cold calling businesses... (does anyone?)

I know Skype contact details has a reason, and is handy for such - but not happy it was used to solicit business.

Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

Unfortunately we can't police what happens on venues not under our control. Bottom line, posting your skype/ICQ/AIM/twitter/facebook/other details mean you will likely be contacted by people that you didn't want to talk to.
