Came out nice. But didn't work well in the Evic. Took too long to heat up.

Yeah probably too tight. I made some with a gap and they perform better with my Evic.

30 gauge Kanthal, 17 wraps, about .05" ID. The 1.7 ohm coil was about 6-7 wraps I think.

Ok, that sounds better. I was trying to "wrap" my head around how in the heck you could have gotten 1.7 out of the number of wraps in that first pic, especially as a single coil.....
