Well to be fair, she edited her post after I had read it. Prior to the edit, her concern was that the company was claiming to be a pharma supply company, and she did not have any comment about importing it into Canada...

I've never even ordered from the states for fear of customs turning it away, nor am I even in the market for nic base. I support Canadian suppliers 100% thus far. I was really just commenting on the desparity of prices between Canada and the USA, which of course goes well beyond ejuice.

I don't see any point in arguing over the company's reputation simply because they chose an unfortunate name. If that's a red flag for you that they are shady, well who am I to convince you otherwise. I can not vouch for their products.

A bit like calling our juice 28mg/ml ......, then expecting the customer to know its not Sildenafil citrate.

Point Kat was making is that if it is labeled as "levonic" it is going to be just as hard as nicotine to get in, as customers will assume, as we did it is the drug, so what is the point? Clearly zero throught was given here, so if that is the type of place you want to buy a product that is arguably dangerous, for your consuption, to save maybe 30 cents a day, its your choice.

theres no reason to slander other suppliers names just because you want their business and at the 3.50$ u have told me it costs to make 1 30ml bottle i would say the nicotine you are supplying would be of the same quality , if you can sell a whole liter for 120$ you must be getting a pretty low price on it , and im just guessing your stuff is coming from the states or china also

We'd never recommend buying from a company that marks their liquid as a highly dangerous, controversial antibiotic. It's ridiculous that we're even discussing this!

Just take a look at the Wikipedia entry on this stuff:

Levofloxacin - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

That's the technical name for Levonic (it has numerous 'brand' names), which is what the supplier in question claims to be selling.

It's associated with a number of serious & life-threatening "adverse reactions," as well as plenty of non-threatening but highly crappy ones. Whoever Box Elder is, they could hardly have picked a stupider fake label for liquid with nicotine. And regardless...this whole business sounds shady, at best. At worst, it sounds quite dangerous & fraudulent. All to save a few bucks? No thank you.

Trust me I don't want that business.

I fail to see how slander applies here, I didn't call their product the name of a pharmaceutical, they did.

I've made my source very clear in the past, as I am more than willing to do again on request, however posting that here is against the rules of the forum, but could be answered in the supplier forum.

There is a very clear distinction between a retailer and wholesaler. A retailer re-sells a pre-existing product that is created by a wholesale company (post manufacture). There are often preset prices (recommended retail) that can be marked up or slightly down to offset bulk purchase discounts and other costs associated with bringing a product to a retail market.

When retail is imported - there are additional costs determined by the country it is imported to. Some countries have very low import taxes and low cost international shipping options for bulk import. Other countries don't. The market in each country also determines price - as a larger market can absorb larger bulk purchases - which in turn drives prices down. The US is an uber-market for retail. Prices are - right across the board in every industry - significantly lower than in any other place on the planet (except tequila from Mexico - of course).

Wholesalers and raw materials companies offer products that are not market ready. While some retailers may offer things they've developed from raw materials - it's not common. In other words - liquid retailers seldom purchase raw materials to create their own retail product.

Bulk purchasing raw materials is not a bad thing for DIYer's who are familiar with the craft and know what and how and how much and under what circumstances and willing to assume any associated risks. Of COURSE it's cheaper.

Your local store is sells you a loaf of post-manufacture bread they brought in from a wholesaler who created it from raw materials. Baking your own is cheaper - of course. Even cheaper still if you purchase the raw materials from a local farmer. Even cheaper still if you grow your own wheat. But you can't discount the retailer who is providing his service at the grocery store for those who would rather buy a loaf than grow their own wheat.

I don't think it's very ethical to be suggesting a company is shady, dangerous and fraudulent when you have nothing to support the claim other than the name of their product.

There is no conceivable benefit to misleading your customers into thinking they are buying wholesale precription antibiotics. I highly doubt it's Levofloxacin, considering many vapers have ordered from Box Elder and have nothing bad to say about the product.

It's curious, but by no means an indication that they are frauds or even shady, IMO. Trademark disputes happen every day. I could just as easily claim that all the Canadian companies out there are shady because they don't accept credit cards.

Slander is vocalized, libel is written

Plain and simple, if you buy DIY from Canadian suppliers, you are being ripped off.

Not all Canadian suppliers are into ripping you off.... recently there have been some that have been offering reasonable deals for reasonable amounts. There are deals to be had if you look hard and we share information here!

I have nothing to support the claim?? Its either Levonic in a bottle, as stated in black and white (well blue) on their website, or its not Levonic in a bottle. If it is, thats dangerous if its not thats fraudulent.

Forget claim, those are the definition.

imo your analogy between how a company names their product is the same as how a Canadian company takes payment isn't fair. just saying.

Also my Canadian Vendor is great, I'm just glad I don't have to worry about if my order is going to get through customs or not. If people want to order outside Canada all the power to them.

I'm just not into the headache and I get a gut ache when I worry.lol

Exactly. If anyone's being unethical, Concat...it's Box Elder with their mislabelled (??) product.

Frankly, we have half a mind to discreetly report them to the authorities so that an inspector can peruse their supplies...& if there is funny business going on, either fine them or shut them down. This alleged business of "it's really flavourless PG with nic, but mislabelled as a highly controversial antibiotic associated with life-threatening reactions" is very shady. If it's Levonic, it's bloody dangerous. If it's PG with nicotine, it's fraudulent. Either way you look at it, they're not serving the best interests of the vaping community.

Legitimate businesses, in the vaping world & elsewhere, do not operate in this fashion.

Logic is a bit flawed also. If a company is shady, I would not want to give them my credit card number, rather than being upset they won't take it.. ;)

Uhhh, I said "other than the name of their product."

Email them yourself and ask them. It’s nicotine juice.

You think they are lying and are actually selling a much more expensive drug over the internet? To what end? To secretly combat the public’s respiratory infections and take a financial loss at the same time? Or rather, you think they are trying to sell their nic juice under the guise of being an expensive drug with little to no market?

In all likely hood, this is just a oversight in branding their stuff. Look, many vapers have already used their stuff and can testify that it is nic juice. That’s all I’m saying.

Calling them dangerous frauds is borderline libelous, IMO. The drug Levonic is owned by a Pakistani company called Paramount. You don’t even know who owns the Levonic trademark in the States, if anyone. There’s even a Chinese electronic manufacturer called Levonic.
