Some Help Please

I received my new Provari v2 about 2 hours ago; I installed a fresh 18650, 2000 Mah button top battery and----NOTHING!

A couple of times, the blue LED flashed but I can't get it to turn on or show any codes. It won't vape; I've gone through the user manual several times, trying the various LED readouts and nothing.

Could I have just spent $200 on a faulty one? I sure hope not

Try playing around with the spring. Remove it, and put it back. The only time I've ever had a problem with mine, it was spring-related.

Hopefully it is just a misaligned spring. Have you tried using other batteries, attys/cartos, etc? Could be a fault. It may also be an incompatible battery type. Some button type batteries have wider buttons than others. If the top is too wide, the button won't fit in the + terminal cutout properly.

I know this sounds dumb, but make sure you put the battery in the right direction. I only mention this because I've put one in upside down before. Don't take it as an insult.

I've tried 2 different batteries, Trustfire 2000; I'll work on the spring and see if that helps; and yes, I do have the positive terminal up!

I've stretched the spring as much as I dare; now the blue LED lights for a fraction of a second and then nothing; if I remove the battery and replace, it does the same; just won't fire.

I'll see what ProVape says tomorrow.

That really stinks. Sorry it happened to you. I'm about ready to pull the trigger on a Provari and I know how disappointing it would be.

But, at least you apparently have a nice Doxa to look at while you wait on a fix! I love Doxas and fully intend to own one some day.

Well, the Doxa is great but I was sooo looking forward to finding out for myself what others have been posting about the v2.

Bad luck of the draw I guess; might just return it and look elsewhere

What carto do you have on it? What ohm? Also are you using the AW IMR batts they recommend?? If anything is not quite right it will not work to protect itself. I did put a batt in upside down once and nothing, thank goodness! Glad yours was right side up bnrk

This is directly from ProVape's site.

"There are a number of batteries that will cause issues including the Trustfire, Ultrafire and other brands. These batteries cannot handle higher current output and the battery will turn off while in use or cause a low battery alert much sooner than it should because the batteries have a high internal resistance. Please make sure you get the proper batteries to use in the ProVari to avoid problems"

Sounds exactly like the problem you're having. I doubt seriously PorVape posted that info for no reason at all. Try the correct batteries before throwing in the towel.

Using a Boge 2.0 carto on a tank; and I have to admit I never saw that wording on their site. I have some Panny batts coming today/tomorrow so I'll wait and see. The batteries could be the issue here. Thanks for that information

Hope those Panasonic batts are high drain. Just FYI, in case you missed this too, ProVape sells batteries. I'd imagine they picked that brand/type of battery to sell because they tested them and find they work the best with their device. Crazy concept, I know. lol

Hope you get is all sorted out soon. I would be beside myself if the V2 in my hand right now wasn't working.

Looks like the batteries are the issue; if I crank the v2 down to about 3/7 or 3.8, everything works fine; My hi drain panny's arrived this evening; got them charging so hopefully I can see what the hi voltage is all about later tonight.

How did it go with the new high drain batteries? Still getting Id10t errors? lol kidding. Interested to know what you think about the ProVari now that you're not trying to run it on the wrong stuff.

The new high drains are much better; still haven't dialed it up past 5.0 yet but so far, the Provari is doing great. At 5.0, the vape is warm but not overly so.

Yeah the issue is without a doubt the batteries and not the unit. Are the Panasonic cells you bought LiMns? (IMRs). The Provari needs an IMR battery to power its boost circuit...with a non IMR, the unit will work sporadically and will have more issues as you continue to increase your wattage...

Yes, both were IMR's; one was 2000 and the new high drains are 2250; could have just been the button issue. Everything is working fine; I'll be playing with the voltage this week to find my sweet spot

Going by the graphs posted and user reports, the unit should function flawlessly with the Panasonic IMRs, even when pulling max power. The are very, very good batteries.

Just saw your post. I am so glad you got it worked out. I would have been curled up in a ball crying if that happened to me when I got my 1st one LOL
