Ok so i've kinda inherited my best friends indulgence recently and it seems to be having a problem with the button....the harder u push the button the better it works and i was wondering if there's anyway for me to do anything about it or if i would have to just order a new button piece for it?

Next question is, he used it at 3.7 volts with the 18650 battery....I'd rather run it at 6v with 2 16340 batterys but was wondering if they are the same size or if i'd need a different extended cup thinggy that holds the batterys....

The output on it in general seems kinda weak but i don't have and have never used the volt testing things to make sure everything is right with it but would like to get it working well so would appreciate any advice!! Thanks a lot

I just had to replace the button section of my Indulgence recently, and VaporJunction was very nice by letting me exchange it rather than making me buy a new one. I use 18650/2900mAh batteries with it and haven't had any problems with it being inconsistent. Yeah, if I shake it there's a bit of a rattle, but it's not obnoxious and it doesn't affect performance. I do vape at 6V occasionally, so you'll need the extension sleeve. I would also suggest getting a couple of copper hot springs from AltSmoke. The springs that come with the Indulgence are severely lacking and that does affect the performance. The copper springs are cheap and easy to replace.

If the button is really hard to push, then I would just get another one. They're only $20 and since you inherited this mod, it's not like that's a lot of money. Once you get a new one, you can tinker around with the old one and see if maybe it just needs to be cleaned out or readjusted.

I really enjoy my Indulgence and I think it's a fantastic, reasonably priced mod.

A drop of baby oil or mineral oil works wonder in the button. It's a common problem with the buttons on the Indulgence. I've also done a complete tune up on all the contact points internally. Each point of contact leads to voltage loss due to high resistance of the points of contact leading to reduced vapor production.
See some of the fixes that I have done: Indulgence

I got the brass springs and replaced the ones that came with the Indulgence.

You gently pull them out with a pair of needle nose pliers and drop the brass ones back in and push them a little so they are centered.

They work great. I am "electronically challenged" so don't ask me anything about how everything reads on a multimeter etc. I take what I do know about materials and invisible current and am assuming that brass is better here also.

Since I replaced the standard, crappy spring with the copper spring I haven't needed spacers for 6V vaping. I just gently stretched the copper spring a little bit and the 3.2V batteries fit tightly.

Im just missing something i guess is the sprint in plain view or do i have to do something to get to the spring

Since your friend was using 18650's with it you already have the extension tube and don't need to buy one to run it at 6v. You may ask your friend for the short tube that normally comes with it just in case he still has it. They also come with a bunch of different caps so you can use most of the popular atomizers and cartomizers. You could ask about those too.

He gave me a bunch of 901/808 tips and a 510 tip that was all he had

The bottom spring in the battery cap is crappy. It's non-plated and of weak tensile strength. The copper spring from Altsmoke is copper plated and stronger. It made a hugh difference. I also replaced the top spring which was difficult. I wouldn't attempt it if you are not mechanically skilled. It involves cutting the glue around the switch and plastic casing. I used a plated ball point pen spring of greater strength (spring was cut to fit) and soldered it to top switch leg. Also squared off and fit the contact point of the crappy bottom switch leg that makes contact to the positive battery post. All this was very hard to get back together with a proper fit.
Note:
The switch resistance went from .4 ohms to ZERO ohms after fix

Yeah that was all pretty much over my head....I was thinking of trying to fold some tinfoil and put it between the battery and thinggy and see if that helps LoL

Just get a couple of the copper springs mentioned earlier.
Here is where I found the springs:
AltSmoke.com | Personal Vaporizers | Electronic Cigarette | Ecigs | Silver Bullet/Omega - Hot Spring

They are super simple and will give you a bit of the feel that all the incredible "mod makers" on ECF get when they make complete new PV's with bailing wire, string, and a bunch of shiney bright things that go blink when you add batteries...LOL...I admire them for their skills and perseverance.

Good luck. I really enjoy my Indulgence.

Would it help the rattle in the battery sleeve to put something between the battery and the sleeve like maybe a long strip on thin cardboard or something else?
