constant state of confusion
All of you nonbelievers, don't think I am insane.
My 7 year old granddaughter, Rylee, sees and communicates with ghosts. We became aware of this when she was about 3 1/2. In her old apartment, there was only one, a boy by the name of Kyle. They moved to a bigger apartment in March. I am at that apartment with them all day. It was not so bad when she was at school but now that she is home for the summer, they are every where. She says at this house there are so many, coming from her closet, that she can't count them. Lights go on, toys turn on, doors open, footsteps, phone ringing and no one there and no caller id, objects jumping off tables....I could go on. It stops if she tells them to stop...briefly. They just want her attention. She has asked them to stay upstairs but they don't always listen. So not only do I spend my days with children, I also spend them with spirits I can not see....school starts soon...hoping it will calm down then. My hair is getting tired of standing on end.

No they don't frighten her at all. I think she is used to them. For her, it is normal. She calls them her "see thru friends" so as long as they don't bother her, I guess I am the one who should get used to them. The only time that we (adults) kind of freaked out was when she told us that Kyle got sick and went to live in the sky and he wanted her to live in the sky with him. that freaked us out just a bit.

That would freak me out too. :( I wonder if she will out grow this or if it is something very real for her. It would really get old after awhile I would think.

This is so freaky that you brought this up, charmed. My neighbor, Kyle, has ghosts in his home. He cannot see them, but they turn lights on/off, turn the ceiling fans on/off, and hide certain items of his. He finds that talking just calmly and "matter of factly" will get them to stop turning his tv stations. He just says something like "Okay, I saw that, please turn it back." They have not scared him nor done him or his home any damage - just playfulness.

About 3 months ago, there was a little girl about 3 roaming our street at like 7am with nothing on but a wet diaper. Kyle's mother was here visiting him, saw the little girl and went out to get her out of the street and try to find where she lived. Couldn't find her home, so called the police. After the police came and were questioning her, she looked at the canal in front of our homes and pointed and said "Ghost." Some children do see them. I never have, though nor have I had any ghostly experiences; however since I was a child, I have had several experiences - even recently - of feeling someone lightly tap me on the shoulder only to turn around and find nobody near me.

I have heard that ghosts like to travel by waterways. Do you have any waterways near your home?

The Spanish people around here believe if you think you have a ghost you must leave a glass of water or liquor out for them. They will go away after they have had their fill. When I moved into my house in St. Cloud things kept falling off the wall or breaking. I was alone for the first two weeks because mike and my son were in Tallahassee setting up a warehouse for Mike's work. I set out the water and politley asked them to quit. It stopped.

The bank that I used to work in.....there was a murder there in the 1950's (?)...(there is a memorial plaque out side to comemorate)...anyway....twice I have had a hand on my shoulder...resting firmly...and no one there. For what it's woth, both times I was helping customers and it was "witnessed" by them...my reaction, they knew something really happened !

that is freaky classy!

My grandmother's old house was right next to a mausoleum (like walk 20 feet and there it was) and a graveyard right across the road. Every day, usually at night the faucets would go full blast. not like a little leak. turned all the way on. Plumbers found nothing wrong. my Nana would just yell "cut it out" and it would stop. Got annoying spending the night though, 10pm when I was 5 was LATE and having to yell at the kitchen sink was kinda weird.

The ghosts must have been thirsty like Seabrook said. :)

Ya know I never thought to ask her about last names and such. I may have to try that. I don't think her friends are attached to the house or things so much as they attach to her. Some may be attached to places. I guess there is a man in our backyard that is only legs and feet

As long as they don't bother her or cause her problems or issues, we are fine with her ability. It's part of what makes her who she is.
