I caught the above information while browsing a Facebook vapors group last evening. Another interesting comment on the same post made by the owner/operator of an e-liquid company said he had gotten word that Sony will be discontinuing the sale of Sony VTC batteries and will no longer be offered to the vaping community. I can't yet validate this information but if true, we may soon lose our best battery for sub-ohm vaping.

That would really suck, love me VTC's. They dropped their 26650's and now the 18650's? bad vape, bad vape. Well have found Imren as a possible source for the 26's. :D

If it is indeed true that Sony is planning on discontinuing these batteries, there's gotta be a really profound reason to motivate Sony to do that! If big tobacco companies are greasing the FDA politically via indirect injections of money, they may be doing the same thing with a company like Sony. Sony doesn't need the vaping industry to generate profit! We're not even a "drop in the bucket" to them. If anything, they may perceive us as a potential future legal liability in the event it is discovered that vaping is unhealthy, as a result of lawsuits implicating Sony as having a part in promoting vaping.

I know that's a stretch, and most likely not the case, but who knows... Why would they cancel production of a product with successful sales? Interesting... LOL

If Sony does indeed cease production of the VTC 4 & 5s, I hope another company adopts the concept, and produces an alternative that is just as good, if not better. This could actually prove to be a fruitful opportunity for a smaller scale battery company to generate some good business, and put them on the map! Just food for thought.
