I finally pulled the trigger on the sophia after reading all of the amazing reviews on it but I'm just not getting any satisfaction with it. I'm using it in an SnP tank. This is my first RBA and I ordered pre-built coils from house of mods and set them up following a youtube video (cutting the wick in two and then cutting the top wick down to the cup on both sides; then placing the wick and coil in the sophia base and using the sophia top to close it and cut away any outside wick. Then placing it into the SnP tank; filling with liquid and opening the sophia to reveal the air holes and allowing to fill until the bubbles disappear. Closing it about half way (although I've tried multiple positions with not much change) and firing it up. I'm getting decent vapor production but a severe lack of throat hit. The same exact liquids have great throat hit and vapor in my cartotanks (smok 2.0 cartos).

Any advice appreciated.

Oh and I'm using a Provari at 3.5-3.7; the reading on my sophia is 1.8

My only complaint with the SnP is the Orings. They are just too tight for most uses, including cartos, imho. However, everything else is great, though the thin glass tanks are fragile, and it rarely survives a good fall. I've replaced tanks 9 times on two SnP's now. I'm very interested in the Sophia as I don't use cartos [tanks] much any more, preferring RTA's, by a large margin. The attractiveness of building my own coils, is attractive in a carto type RBA, but the RNR wire is problematic. I have an Ithaka, but don't use it too often, as builds are more of a project than I normally like. I need to change this, I think. Prebuilt coils are generally lousy. Even if the wire is ok, the wick material is usually lousy. I use cotton a lot, almost exclusively. I don't have a zapper, so joining RNR wire is manual, and a PITA. I do have the prebuilt coils and they suck, pretty much. I think a proper built coil in the Sophia may provide a much better vape. I do plant to ordre the Sophia, but I'm working on the taifun GT at the moment. Where did you get yours from? All the best! Ciao!
