So I see the new Hey Leaford sticky thread, but the 'post your problems' thread is gone. Unstickied and locked. So was that on purpose?
Good question, and yes it was.
The post your problems thread has been dwindling since Red came on board, and as stock issues have eased. And as you've said, it had wandered hopelessly off track for the most part anyway. They're putting procedures in place to better handle CS issues and communicate, etc. and so it was time to try to get things back to channels as much as possible.
We can always reopen it or open a new one if needed. And no one's going to be slapped down for opening their own thread to get our attention. But things are running smoothly enough now I think we can get along without it for awhile at least.
I hope that makes sense to you.
And the intention for the Hey Leaford was so questions/answers don't get lost in the jungle that is this forum. But like every other thread here, that one will go off-topic before the 20th post. Maybe one way to keep it on-topic is if a Moderator would use one of their superpowers and just move severely unrelated posts to this or another more suitable thread. I've seen that done in lots of places. Just an idea
Frankly, on that thread I just might do that. Assuming I can figure out how. Or delete them. I will certainly clamp down on off topic cross talk more than any other thread. Think of it as a q&a column.
And if we do reopen a "Problems" thread I'll do the same there.
BUt on the flip side, I'll also try to do thngs like crossposting important info or good discussions to new threads of their own, like I did with the CS contact info. And crosspost good questions and answers that happen in other threads into the Q&A thread. Try to make the info easier to find and more useful.
