Howdy morandir, made another venture into your homeland, testing the waters in the swap thread, haven't been run out yet!

Don't know why, but the Ben Folds quote surprises me from you. My daughter has a cute Ben Folds Five t-shirt that once belonged to my college sweetheart, not sure if that has anything to do with anything, but that's not unusual for me, so I'll keep rolling with it, approximately 12 years ago I got drunk and apparently said to my roomie (we were mostly into death metal and punk rock at the time) "Ben Folds Rocks!", he quotes it to me to this day whenever I'm bordering on having had too much to drink, especially when I start pursuing what seems like a good idea at the time that we both know I'll probably not agree with myself about in the morning. It's saved me from everything from confrontations with marines to evenings with less than honorable ladies, and for that I owe Mr. Folds a heartfelt thanks.

Thank you for the laugh Analog sir. My musical taste surprises alot of people... Black metal is my core music, but I try to listen to every genre. As long as I can feel the emotion behind the music, I can at least respect the artist, if not become a fan. I got into Ben Folds when I heard the song "underground", then when I heard "brick" I became a die hard fan... That song still gets to me, having been through the situation myself... Sadly most of today's mainstream music is made just to sell songs, so to find new bands I have to go back to searching the underground... Used to doing that for metal, but sad that it's now the case for alternative as well... I truly miss whfs... Sorry, I'm rambling...

Now look, I've given a million ladies a million foot massages motorcycle rides and they all meant something. We act like they don't, but they do. And thats whats so cool about 'em. There's a sensuous thing goin' on where you don't talk about it, but you know it, she knows it, Mr. Slim knows it and redemptION oughta really know about it. OK I'm back from my Ben Folds Five festival. Apparently Slim did the counting of the band members too (I only ever saw 3)

That boy is a bundle of contradictions. He looks like the geeky boy next door but swears like a sailor (no offense popeye), the music is upbeat, toe tapping pop, but the lyrics are bummed out, ticked off, suicidal. And I suppose part of the 'joke' is that its a trio calling themselves 'five'.

It's a REALLY hard habbit to get rid of. It's a stereotype for a reason. I've been out of the Navy since 2007, and have 3 little girls, and I still swear a lot. Not as much as I used to.. I've definitaly tried cutting down for my girls, but DAMN is it hard!

I'm surprised so many people haven't heard of Ben Folds. I'm not a huge fan, but he's an interesting guy. He was a judge on the show The Sing Off that was on a while back, which showcased a capella singers.
