Luckily, I have only seen episodes with him in them. He is an excellent actor and I love his character on the show. Not sure I would want to watch it if he wasn't in it.

I never saw the show but I did get caugh in a shoot on Wilshire years ago. Walking home from work and got stopped by a cop before crossing the road because they were in the middle of a scene. I did get to say a couple of words to Mandy after the scene before I continued home.

This is all I can think of when I think of Tim Curry:

Thanks for the assist, Frick. You have tried out many more devices than I have and can speak from experience that I don't possess.

It cracks me up that they tend to say that if someone buys an 808 they'll just end up buying something else in a month. And THEN they admit that they got something else within a month themselves. They are demonstrating their preference for more fiddly bits and assuming that others will follow the same pattern.

Also, they base their opinion of the KR808 on an outdated standard that is no longer relevant. They even think that the battery life is 30 minutes if you're lucky. Sigh.

I just don't want people who were interested in an analog like PV to be pointed to a three piece device that feels and acts nothing like an analog and just give up. I know my wife would have.

It's the ongoing debate. I just hate that n00bs get led to believe that "if it's not the size of a cigar, you're going to ditch it in two weeks", when it's simply not true. I don't often put in my two pennies just to watch them bounce of the big-batt/mod wall, but once in a while I feel compelled to respond. It's a Sisyphean task, though, and I grow tired of attempting it. Ah, well, I suppose those who truly want a cig-style and -sized PV will gravitate towards 808 gear, as I did.
