15 years in Orlando. Summary: Visit. NEVER LIVE.
Florida in general: Tourist or Retire. DON'T LIVE.
If you're young enough, you can acclimate. If you don't know what real humidity is, visit during the "winter" or you'll be ready to evacuate within the week.
Having gotten out of FL, I can't possibly imagine how I ever survived the place. I feel going back would kill me.

P.S.:
Slim + redemptiON ----> Roadtriiiiip Hoooookuuuuuup!

Please ignore me. I'm drunk, again.

You know... Florida basically boils down to how far from I-5 you feel comfortable driving off of. Orlando is one hub that has the benefit of being ON I-5. Miami, and the Quays (Keys, ugh) happen to be the ...-end of I-5. If you're a space-boy, or don't realize how boring it is if you aren't, Cape Canaveral.... is SOMEWHERE.

As a way-too-long-term resident, I still thing St. Augustine is the BEST destination around. But then, I never went there enough to become jade.

Sorry, please ignore Florida. It's full of old people and hanging chads.

P.S.: My facts are drunk.

P.P.S.: I edited this twice. I see two more typos... I'll let them live as a testament to Vodka.
