Spam ads????

I have been seeing the ads for about an hour or so. I am logged on and am using Google chrome. I ran a virus scan and cleared my browser, I will check out Firefox and see if the same thing shows up. Annoying!!!!

Logged on via Firefox but ads are still there. Will check to see if I have the ad-block extension....

But have you used Malware Bytes?

Ads that are there and shouldn't be there are usually Malware, not a virus.

But it might be a bug in the site, cause I see ads and I am logged in. But I am not a donating member so I assumed that was normal.

but we need to remember that ecf is hosted on more than one server - and a problem might be server-specific. i wonder when the mods conferred if they all got on ecf through the same server????
there might be plenty of other people experiencing this issue but are not paying attention or accepting the ads as something new ecf started.

it could be, the thread is open let see how many members report in here to be facing the same issues

I am getting it in both browsers, will check back to see if any resolutions are found.

I have tried it with both browsers, both logged in and not. No ads. I have disabled all of my antivirus and other protection software. There is obviously a space for an ad but no ad appears for me.

I tried disabling NoScript and Adblock, reloaded the page and even navigated back to the main index page and I am not seeing anything in FF

EDIT: Opened up the forum in IE and saw the ads. Couldn't log in from there to see if they went away . . . IE crashed before I could get to the login I forgot how much I hated that browser . . .

Assuming ECF is not generating any code to pull ads from the outside world, it would be interesting to look at the source code of the web pages from those people that are seeing the ads.
