Spam ads????

I reported one of these late last night, the guy actually posted a link and it was the same name as his Avatar, one of the modders had to have gotten it , I used the triangle symbol and in my notes I put Spammer Spammer Spammer, Elindil maybe you could check on what I reported in on and it would help as per what it was.

I think there may be an issue with the forums Google ads account, I've passed this one up for Roly and SJ to look into. Every once in awhile we have to go in and change settings to block certain ads that are not wanted on ECF.

I don't have ads either, could your computer have gotten a virus? You can block spam ad, don't ask me how but I know you can

Sorry I haven't been round earlier, I've been out with flu.

Some experimentation is being done with advert displays so it is more than likely there will be errors and oddities. We have changed our ad delivery service and made changes to usergroups who see ads.

There are two main changes to the usergroups seeing ads: full members will now see ads, and Suppliers will be able to see ads from manufacturers.

Veterans and Subscribing Members don't see ads, as before.

Because of the range of changes, we can expect there will be glitches. For example it was reported that ads were seen on a Profile page, but in theory this has never been possible and hasn't been changed... So, some things will need sorting out.

Harry our coder is working on this, and if you see something that could be a fault, please report it. A screengrab is always useful, get the free app Picpick for this if you don't have one (find it on Gizmo's Freeware).

It is probably due to excessive avatar use, the software punishes her as it is getting tired.

Not really - I think it's probably because she is in a Supplier group, as an Associate, and the correct ads (manufacturer's banners) were not ready on that day, so default ads were shown instead, those being the usual Google ads. Looks like the Supplier group overrides the others.
