I really don't understand the issues some are having. This has to be one of most mechanically simple devices out there.

I have two of these in use; one thermo 3.7v for home use and the standard setup for on the go. Both work perfecly fine, taking routine maintenance into account.

People seem to be so caught up in their own ineptitude that they can't even digest simple common sense advise.

I may be inept but I am quite capable of digesting simple common sense advise. I guess you will have to excuse the fact I wasn't born with certain knowledge.

If you would care to trade your perfectly working units I would be more than willing. Maybe mine will magically work well for you.

And tib...........maybe you should send him that bottom cap. I'm sure it will work perfectly for him.

It's awesome that YOUR mod is working great for you and I'm really happy for you...but watch how you speak to people here. Your last comment was completely unnecessary.

No sky...they are talking about batteries that don't have a raised side at all. I forget the number of the flat ones, but that's not the ones we are using.

It's the ones that go in a ScrewDriver (forget the number.. 16300? maybe?)

Okay............so a magnet is out? Or just the magnets they sell?

Are yours still working well cricket?

I've used the spacer magnets on a mod before. Still here! :D

TOTALLY uncalled for. Please read the ECF and PIF rules. We can debate the subject, but not call names.

Ditto.

Please, let's get back on topic. Thank you :) (((PIF)))

ok - called the number - curiosity got me - its as follows:
she (customer rep I talked to) said it shows her the same thing - $0. Asked for info to call me back (which I gave - will update) - I dont want to take advantage of a web error - but if they are doing some kind of crazy promo, want to hop on it! :)

no callback as of yet. It was killing me, so I went through with the order- I have not received a confirmation email, but I checked out/ordered and it was $0 for the mod, and $4.99 for shipping. I tried to find terms or anything else on the site regarding a delay pay or anything else, but could not. Maybe a great holiday deal?

Yea - wondering if its a "first 100 orders..." kind of thing - but what surprised me was the fact that the toll free phone service folks you call dont know any answers.
I did just get an email from James saying that it was out of stock, and back in stock early next week - nothing in the email other than that. So perhaps some kind of killer promo deal?

i am posting this here because i was uncomfortable with the way battery recommendations were worded. there are NO safe batteries period. no matter which batteries you use educate yourself!

Here are some pictures that illustrate what can happen when you use an unprotected battery a battery fails. The lady this happened to was not harmed, but her coat pocket caught on fire. The case in the photos is a metal eyeglass case.

take note that this was an aw imr safe chemistry battery

Edit: It was pointed out that my post might be inflammatory and that this flies directly in the face of "conventional wisdom." These photographs were not posted in order to "stir the pot". Rest assured that the forum administrative staff will be looking it over and discussing possible revisions or amendments to our battery safety stickies.
