there's no doubt about it ECF has got bigger... but thread rants are just
the same as the old days.... so why over moderation?

back in the day when dusty and cashmere were the

I can understand moderation. But strong arm tactics are not the way to go. For me personally I am afraid to ask a simple question for fear it will be taken as "bashing or questioning mods" and a ban will be issued. Moderation should not make people afraid to ask questions.
From what I can see this is SmokeyJoe's forum and the people that are moderating the forum are doing what was asked of them. A open call for moderators was made and answered by those that had the time and inclination to do the work needed to ensure that the forum stays civil and followed the TOU(which I must take time to reread LOL).
Congratulations to all our new Mods and I know this must be as trying on you all as it is on forum members,especially as the forum grows with new members. Best of luck to all of you.
I do hope spikey does decide to come back, I enjoyed her videos and input but ultimately we all make our own decisions.

SO if insulting someone on purpose gets you 24 hours banning then shouldn't you, EVEN BEING A MOD, be banned for purposely insulting someone??
If you are true to your word that nobody is above the rules then you will voluntarily allow yourself to be banned for 24 hours.

I hope as soon as people, get the hang of the MODERATION. Things will calm down, and you can relax as well. Totally miss DW and Spikey, so hopefully they stay around contribute without anymore issues. Perhaps I am too easy going, so maybe thats the reason im not having issues.

yep modding is a thankless task no doubt but If I joined in the past 3 months It probably wouldn't bother me as much, I also wouldn't have hung around so much either. People have a choice in where they hang out. Some people are choosing to leave and this is unfortunate for the new people and for the ECF. We all know where the door is. We can use it or not.

But seriously - all forums go through growing pains. This forum has grown exponentially just in the short time that *I* have been here. Does it suck that some of the oldest, most vocal posters have left or been banned? It certainly does. Are other people going to get ...... and leave? Probably and I'm sure that some babies will be thrown out with the bathwater and that sucks too. But it doesn't change the fact that there are still some amazing, wonderful and outspoken people here that seem like they plan to stick around. And perhaps when things cool down some, our "favorites" will find their way back here.
