I got to try the fuse mod today. Got the mini instead of full size because im an air head that way, but i assume it works the same. Bent the legs, stuck it in, put the battery in and it fired good. The mini size was too small and moved around, so i cut some poster sticky foam thingy i had lying around and stuck a piece under the fuse. It stays right in place when i take the battery in and out no problem; doesnt even wobble. The best thing is the foam has a certain elasticity to it, so it feels like a spring when you put the battery in. Battery sits very snug, and yet very easy to take out when i want to.

I getting back about 0.2V with a 0.5 ohm coil, doesnt sound like much but its actually quite a bit if you think about the difference in wattage. Also im not using AW or MNKE; just pannies. I think the return would be much better still with higher drains batts.

All in all, a success. Thank you boys!

Now back to stalking the mail notification for the new door from Rob and lets squonk this baby up.

A Deezy mod - hell yeah I'll try it :) should I just send ya my grand bro? Thanks Deezy :)

Actually that would make things much easier for me. I'm up for trying it it, if I'm unable to do it it will be returned in the exact condition & functional state as I received it.

Robert announced that his kits might be done in the near future. As far as an upgraded firing pin being included in that I kit, I don't know but it seems some people are thinking there will be. I'm going to wait for those kits to be released. I haven't modded anything functionally on my Reos except for the firing pin on two. Heck, I haven't even scraped the PC off from under the spring plates. I'm just too .... I guess.

But for you my offer will still stand, be it now or later. Just say the word bro.

Here's an "updated" version/suggestion, based on "feedback". This one won't slide around. (Not that the other version did). I didn't test for putting it in backwards . . . . so, just do like the pics.

I snipped off a leg and filed smooth (to protect juice bottle), drilled out where the shank is perforated w/ a 1/16" drill bit, countersunk the plastic w/ a 7/64" drill bit. The spring screw works ok, but it's finicky. A slightly longer screw would be appropriate.

15A fuse from junk drawer and for demonstration purposes only. USE ONLY A 10A FUSE.

And THIS IS DANGEROUS. DON'T DO IT. NOT SAFE. YOU'LL GET HURT IF YOU TRY THIS. DON'T. BAD.

Check to see the fuse is still snug with each battery change.

So just as a follow up to my .3-.4ish coil running on the brass neg w/ turned positive in the hdmi cap...

I have vaped this setup now through ~9ml of juice (granted it cooks juice about as quick as mundy's magic)... Same battery that started at 4.2v ~36hr ago is still vaping like a fresh battery and has only dropped to a 3.6v charge while holding 3.0v under load.

for a super-sub-ohm setup, this is flippin' incredible!

My PTFE should be here in the next day or 2 from mcmaster and I have several build ideas in mind, but one primarily will be ptfe grooved for the fuse. It will utilize brass shim sleeves wrapped positive and negative to contact the fuse, brass screw in the stock screw hole as an additional ground, and all sides will be coated in liquid electrical tape to prevent arcs or shorts to the mod walls.

Deezy bro, as always, very kind of you. Thank you. But I would like to take a rain check for now bro while I wait for the ninja's upgrade. It's not exactly like I'm burning up my mods or anything :). Thank you again my brother. You have already done some damn righteous stuff for this kid. :)

So, my fellow REOnutz...

Got home from work today to 2 things...

1) my Pdib fuseblock

y3a4ahab.jpg

Awesome little design.

Nextly, my PTFE.

I don't own a saw, i live in a loft apartment, and my workbench is my computer desk... So the daunting task was interesting.

I started by cutting the ptfe to size using my suction cup vice on the kitchen island and my combat gerber knife as a saw!

The rest is pretty well photo-documented:

All of the above slots and holes were done by hand using a 1/16" drill bit and a lot of elbow grease.

Now we prepare the positive:

I am allowing the liquit tape to cure, but it will mount inside my reo using the stock spring screw hole with a brass screw

Final installed pics, results and numbers to follow.

The front view with the fuse removed.

Once installed, the mini fuses will be 100% plug-and-vape.

No adjustments required after swapping the fuse.

The brown bottom is backing to the adhesive PTFE. Once tested, it will be peeled and stuck, then screw mounted.
