Hi all

Received my FT clone a few days ago with skew 1882100. Day one was outstanding. No leaks, great wicking, and great flavor. Today I had a rather large juice leak on the base. That was the only leak spot. Stripped her down and inserted the extra O ring on the 510 pin.

I'm not sure if I should do anything else?

Except vape and see what happens /lol Trust me, every single part has been thoroughly cleaned and lubed. Build still looks good and my organic cotton (Bio Wick) is performing just like it always has.

I see mention ? of an Oring for the plastic tank insert. Maybe I'm nutzo but I don't see one? Where is it? How in heck due I get to it?

Thanks in advance for any help.

:)

Pull the plastic tank out. There is a very skinny groove in the metal tank section a bit above the windows. And another below the windows. They should each contain a flimsy white o ring. When in the grooves they are flush to the metal tank.

OK I am a glutton for punishment but I everything I've read said the Kingtu Squape clone is good, come's with two glass (real glass) tanks, solid O-rings and the right 510 pin and three decks.

I have one on the way

Where did you order it from? The URL?

And the saga continues with my FT clone. Two O rings on the 510 pin was an epic fail. Another leak and not a dribble. Time for some drastic measure! Food grade silicone around the 510 pin on the base and it's still drying. Backed it out first so it fires on all my devices. I'm not very optimistic about this fix but we shall see.

Next victim!

Did you get the one with PMMA tank? They have a fix kit for that one (new pin, some o-rings and deck screws). Have you put in a ticket?

I was curious about these clones before signing up here at ECF a few days ago. I've read this whole thread now. THANK YOU ALL for being braver than I am about testing unknowns and for posting it all here where chickens like me can read about it!

roxynoodle, many pages back I wished I was better at photoshop so I could make you a new avatar of a bird battering and pecking Chuckie into submission. A page or two later and I thought Marc411 needed one where he's throwing birdseed to support the cause. I'm cringing and laughing at the same time reading your posts.

cindycated, your engraved version is a great idea!

Good luck to all! Down with Chuckie & all his minions!

EDIT ...
... Maybe I can engrave it with my dremel
Oh, please link me the thread about that, too. I remember trying to engrave when I got a Dremel. They made that look way easier in the commercial. :(

My SqR finally showed up from Focalecig today. 31 days and it is finally here. Although, I'm dreading it more than I'm excited about it.

I assume this is what everyone else's FC Ivogo units looked like?

I can already tell I'll have to put in a ticket with FC. Like other folks, the 510 pin is way too short. If it is backed out enough to make a connection with the mod, it isn't solidly connected to the deck - lots of play. When I do snug it up into the deck it has no chance of making a connection to the mod. I haven't bothered pulling the tank out yet to see if there are o-rings installed... I kind of doubt it. Threads on the deck are kind of crunchy as well. Not super impressed at this point.

edit: Rather than pulling the tank sleeve out, I flipped it upside down and filled it with water. It's only been a few minutes but it hasn't started leaking out of the tank windows yet. That leads me to believe the o-rings are installed. I'll let it sit for awhile and see what happens.

Yep, that's the evil incarnation!

It only takes a few seconds to pull out the plastic and check for the o rings. Getting them in is another story.

And don't forget there's probably ematal on the post screws and 510 also.

Have fun!

lol... thanks Roxy. I don't see any ematal on the post screws or the 510 pin.

I left water in the tank for about an hour and not a drop leaked out. I tried getting the tank sleeve out but it is in there pretty tight. I probably won't bother pulling it out unless it starts leaking.

edit: I decided to pull the tank sleeve out. There are o-rings installed. Thank goodness. I think my only issue now is the short 510 pin.

Yep, there it is Satan in a box. You are also going to need that 4mm o-ring in the bag to stop the 510 pin from going to far into the topper.

I just received a reply on their repair kit and they said the items will be received by them in two days and will arrange the shipment process within 24 hours. I have an assigned order number with two kits.

I am going to wait for my own parts to make sure I have what I need ;)
