My Squape just got in today, I have a microcoil build on it with a cotton wick.

It flooded once, I unscrewed the bottom, held down my switch until the wick dried up a little. Screwed it back on and back in business.

So far, I feel like its a solid 8/10.

EDIT: Does everyone else only have 1 airhole? I am contemplating drilling another air hole...

I'm able to vape the 1st tank, than it start to flood when it's wicking good on the 2nd refill. I wonder if steel mesh over silica will help stop the flooding?

Take it off the battery, seal the air hole with a finger and give a sharp pull. You shouldn't be able to pull any air through it. Proper wicking on these bottom feeders depends on a sealed juice chamber as much as the correct amount of wick , be it kayfun, bottom coil clearo, or whatever.

I'm interested in hearing if anyone drills out a second hole. I'm afraid that it may not make much difference because the air would still be limited by the size of the air hole inside, under the wick.

At first I thought the air flow was fine, but the more I use it I'm finding myself annoyed by the tight draw (and to think I was happy when I heard people complaining about it being airy.)

I haven't had any flooding for the past few days, but I've been keeping it upright. Eventually I will lay it on its side and see if it comes back.

So that's pretty much my review as it stands now. Best wicking device I've ever used, with horrible tight draw that kills the vapor production, and (if my experiments are correct) may not be very suitable for out and about use do to flooding.

I heard that people removed the o-ring at the centerpin. I am not sure if this helps, because I never did it. I am happy with the draw. I never experienced flooding at all while the SQuape is laying on its side. Someone I know had also flooding problems, but out of the window! He had cracked a window. Then he sent an email to stattqualm and they replaced his window immediately. But I guess, your windows are still ok - then it might be because of your wick.

while the draw seems tight at first a few adjustments to my wick and its fine now. With the small venterchannel for airflow I think too much or too fat a wick is actually going to slow down the airflow a lot. im noting as with a genesis. once the wick is firing correctly the draw increases because of proper vapor expansion like with the cobra and gemini i own I think it just comes down to relaxing and learning to let the atty do the work and stop trying to force a big hit.

second tank now. at half full left it overnight and zero flooding or gurgling but I made sure the wick fills the channel completely especially from side to side where it touches the bell when I screw it on. big clouds now and almost spot on for my genesis flavor. this is pretty close to what i am hunting for - geni taste and kayfun convenience. wil have to give it a couple tanks before I see how it reacts to being carried around.

Well, I do want to say that I don't know if lying it on its side causes flooding, it was just a guess. I've only had it happen three or four times, not a big deal. but it was totally random when it happened. I have really only set this up the way it's supposed to be, two pieces of 3mm silica, with one piece fully in the channel. So that just made me think I may have had it on its side those few times.

I do know that the size of the wick affects the air flow, so I am going to try two pieces of 2mm next, but both really fluffed out and in the channels.

hows the draw with it not having airflow control? wish it had a control... bought the 91% mainly for that very reason.

It's a little airy, which is fine, for me. Not quite as airy as the Kayfun Lite. It doesn't vent from the side, like the Taifun or Kayfun does. The vent hole is above the threads of the 510 connector, and the bottom cap is slotted, similar to Protanks, etc. So, it depends on the device it's on. I have mine on a GP Paps, which has a slotted top cap.

that sounds good. like you, i find the KFL to be a tad airy. so, do you feel it was worth the hefty price? i can get one for 150.00 + shipping but, i dunno.

Yes I do. In fact, the more I vape it, the more I'm thinking I like the Squape every bit as well or better than the KfL.

I hear ya. My vape budget has been through the roof, and beyond the stratosphere for a while. Every time I think I'm done, something new comes along that I just have to have.
