ETA: The size of the mini is wonderful, but they lack the capacity. I have 2 14500 mini's I stopped using and started using grands. And as has been mentioned, I, too, don't mind carrying an extra battery or two, but juice is just too much hassle to tote around in a separate container. This whole thread has inspired me to (eventually) try my hand at "enlarging" a 3ml bottle. If I could get 4.5-5ml, I might just start using the mini(s) again.

I know what you mean! It used to be a hassle but after a couple of years my mini road "package" is now a part of me. Change out the bottle, and battery at work mid day and good to go until I get home. I love the size of the mini as i can have it in my pocket very comfortably. Going to explore the bottle extension though!

Ok, that is pure awesome on a lanyard! Much better than my plastic battery case w/ spares, a 30ml bottle and a tiny Ziploc bag w/ a piece of cotton with toenail clippers in it... in my left front uniform pocket LOL.

LOL! I would agree.
One of these and you are all set. One more tip, skip the baggie and just put a little cotton strand inside your REO between bottle and battery in case of emergency. Rough it and tear instead of carrying clippers. :)

i did a grand tube and the displacement of the tube is only .50ml so best guess for a mini I'm not sure because I don't have a mini bottle.

Here's the math..tube diameter is 3/16" (.1875"). Radius is.0937" A GRand bottle is 1.375" to the shoulder.
Volume of a cylinder is height x pi x radius squared

1.375x3.14x.00878=.0379 cubic inches

Have to subtract the inner diameter which is 1/16" (.0625")..radius .0312" so that = .0041 square inches

Total volume is .0379-.0041=.0338 cubic inches

Convert .0338 cubic inches to ml=.55ml

subtract out the 18 gauge needle which I got at .05 ml and I end up at .5 ml

I'm not sure the height of the 3ml bottle compared to the 6 ml bottle.

Different and all too .... approach. :)

You are totally correct ltrainer, thank you for spotting my mistake. I had doubts so did the experiment twice, but now I discover tonight that I was reading the graduations on the syringe as 0.2ml instead of 0.1ml :facepalm:

A different approach is always good to compare to the original approach to see if the results are in the same ballpark. I was out by a factor of 2, excitement got in the way of objectivity. I would never make a good scientist :laugh:

I wouldn't either. It hurts my brain too much and you wouldn't believe how many times I had to do the math to get two results that were the same. :toast::laugh:
