Woooohooooo got my bottles let the testing begin!

I agree, Rudy. Having 6 ml bottles for the Minis and the Mini 2.1s is just soooo handy. I'm really using my baby REOs a lot more lately. I also got a couple of the Vapage 9 ml bottles for the Grands, and that's pretty neat, too.

Hi Jan,
'Uti' is my daily work REO now that she is packing 6ml! :)
Just to let you know she is used and loved! :)

She's still sooooo cute to me! Looking good packing more juice.......

I guess I've made a mess of my quoting here, sorry. But I gotta ask a question. Your 6 ml. bottle looks like the bottles(6 ml.) that I ordered and got. I did a trial fitting in my Mini 2.1 and I really have to cram the bottle in beside the AW IMR 18490 battery. Is that OK? Is that the way y'all's are?

Just worrying out loud.

Thanks.

Finally did mine on my REO.... didn't want to comment til I went through a full bottle, since it worked perfectly at first.

The red top I had leaked when the bottle went below 1/2 and squonked... but not at the tube, at the bottle/cap connection. I used a spare O-ring from my billet box kit (don't know size), which perfectly fit the cap at the top, and screwed the bottle in very tight to it.

Testing it now, I think the leak problem is fixed, but still not to the bottom of this bottle yet to be sure. I made the cap hole a tad smaller than the actual tubing, so it was slightly squeezed when put on, it doesn't leak at the tube itself at all. So far so good:).

The middle sized bottle from the red capped Amazon kit is what I used... but wish it were about 10 ml taller, at that width, you could easily fit a bottle double the height in the space with the same cap:).

FYI; Don't know if this will help, but as when drilling stainless or tough steel or deep holes (3 x dia.) a 135 deg split point drill is used.

When drilling rubber or soft plastics a sharper angle down to a 90 deg inclusive angled drill is prefered. Maybe a better hole from that type of drill? I have not got my bottles so I have not tried this yet. I have been away from machining for a few years, but machined a little bit of Teflon and rubber in my day. This is also taken from Clevelands guides to twist drills.

Also just a thought but a peice of syringe tube inside the tygon at the cap will prevent the tygon from collapsing and also alow for a tight fit........maybe this will help?

Thanks for this thread everyone glad I found it for a 2.1 mini!

I haven't read the entire thread so if this has already been discussed I apologize. But, I have read that people are asking about holding the cap while they drill the hole. Question, has anyone drilled the cap with it still on the bottle rather than taking it off? Just wondering!!

I used a pair of pliers to hold my cap. Holding the bottle would still put my fingers fairly near the drill bit if it slipped:D (I'd hate to put the bit through my squonking finger LOL)

I used a lexan body reamer, available at any RC shop. Cuts like a drill, perfect round hole, very useful around the house and vapebox. I have drills and bits bit this is easier, cleaner, and does a better job, not to mention safer.

Something like this one http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXJGU5&P=7

I still think the secret to a clean drilled hole is to start with a small pilot hole made with sharp small nail directly in the center of the cap. Hold cap flat on table with pliers then insert drill bit 5/32" or 11/16" in pilot hole and drill straight down. With the pilot hole the drill bit will not "travel" and make a nice clean hole. Shave off any clippings and good to go! :) Just my opinion, has worked for me, no leaks.

Had my first blow out today on the 6ml bottle; pin hole leak on the bottom weld seam corner. Was in service about 3 weeks of heavy squonking. A little messy but threw on a new bottle.

That happened to my lady as well. 2 times already! I think it's because she always waits until the bottle is almost empty before she refills thus having to squeeze the living daylights out of the bottle to get the juice to flow all the way up to the atty thus deforming the bottle. After a few times of this the bottle can only take so much at the seams then splits! I tell her to refill when it gets to about 2/3 empty then refill, no problems since.

As a side note, I knew she was letting the juice get too low because when she squonked I could hear the air escaping thru the atty like a bad gas fart. I told her that was a sure sign to refill because if she was getting air sound that meant no liquid!! I look at her bottle after squeezing trying to that last drop and the bottle looked like it was run over by a car!!
Time to refill dear! :)

Thanks everyone for the links! I ended up getting both the condiment bottles from Amazon and the XL Vapage ones. Drilled them out today and 5/32" was fine for the red caps but the Vapage caps needed 11/64". Those came out best since they have the little cup/seal thing inside, easy to get dead center. Held onto them with a pair of pliers and had a piece of 2X4 to drill on.

I like that reamer Chowderhead! My son does RC car repair for a hobby. I bet he has one around here. :)
