Yep - no priming puffs needed. The squonking action should saturate your wick just fine.

If you get gurgles, you've probably just gotten juice in either the air hole or coated on the cap and/or drip tip. I've gotten this when I oversquonk or have a wick touching the cap. When it happens, it's a breeze to fix - just take the cap off and wipe it with a paper towel and blow out the drip tip (and adjust the wick if needed). You could also try just vaping through it - just don't let the wick(s) get too dry as you're trying to clear it.

You'll get to be a pro in no time.

Angi, does that happen very often when you squonk, or is it rare? It seems to be the problem with using the Sofia on the Reo. I gently squonk only until I see a bubble or tiny bit of juice appear at the bottom of the atty, and even then it's still over-juiced. I don't know how to stop squonking short of that. So do I understand that even with the RM2 it's easy to over-juice?

Ok, first, I didn't even know the Sophia could be used on the REO  I didn't know it was a BF. I know the Sprial Dripper can be used on it tho.

And I use the RM2 and very rarely flood it anymore, It was like my first week using it where I was busy doing things and forgot I had already squonked it and was squoking it twice in a row. It's not easy to do really. Its more or less not paying attention.

Ive gotten more dry hits than overfilling Again, because I don't pay attention and forget to squonk. LOL

ETA- now that I've used this thing CONSTANTLY (it truly rarely leaves my hand anymore) I'm now able to tell by the vapes when I need to squonk as well as change out my batts. Like anything else, more use brings more knowledge of it and you just start know when certain things are taking place.

I have found that if the air hole is oriented in a downward position or towards me, I will get some gurgle and a less pleasant vape. So I vape with the hole pointing away from me and never get the gurgle.

That's good to know. Thanks for the tip. I'll remember it when my RM2 arrives. :)

The Sofia is all I've got besides a few 306's for now to use with the Reo. No 'airhole' so to speak (can't leave it in the open position on the Reo). I'm still waiting for my RM2 to arrive and just hoping it's a little better to use than the Sofia, and I'd guess it would be. Thanks! :)

On the Sophia, all the air is coming through the bottom, which is the same place the juice is coming from. With the cup designed the way it is, it'll hold juice in the same place you are drawing air from, so I imagine it would gurgle quite a bit (I never tried the Sophia on my Reo). That being said, there are some people who love the Sophia on a Reo, so there must be a way to adjust. But you won't have nearly the same amount of gurgling with the RM2 because it's built to drain all the excess juice out of the bottom.

Everything you guys are saying is good. Because the Sofia has no air hole, so to speak, the juice probably doesn't want to slide back down into the bottle. And you don't want to open the Sofia when it's not in a tank. It not only wouldn't work right and drip down the outside but it sure wouldn't even look right. But the Sofia is a miracle atty when in a tank, which is why I have so many. I'll never have to buy another carto and one little build on the Sofia and I'm good to go for many days of great powerful vaping.

I'm encouraged with what you're saying about the RM2. And again...I'm just waiting for one. But I really appreciate all your comments and have copied some for reference later. Thanks!

P.S. See my signature at the bottom...you can go check out the Sofia for yourselves. I'm hooked. :) Oh, and I don't think the Sofia works well in the Reo, but I won't argue with those who do. Now the Dripper Pro and Spiral, I can see how they might work all right on the Reo.

I agree with you 100% I think the Sofia is tops when using a tank, I have a eBaron Dripper Pro and I bought a Spiral just to use on the REO but as I said earlier it did not work out for me. All the by Leo devices are great for their intended application. Same as the RMx line is tops for it's intended application. For my all day carry anywhere REO's the RM2 and cyclones with a single 1ohm coil and ReadyWick takes care of all my needs. You will be very happy with the RM2 when it gets home and you will be amazed at how easy it is to get set-up and the flavor it produces. I can't wait to hear all about it.

Totally- all about intended application. Once summer finally arrived, I could no longer carry a tank- no matter what it would leak everywhere because of temp changes. Being able to throw my mod in my bike bag or pocket and not worrying about it leaking or breaking is key for enjoying the summer months here... and my Reos are perfect for that. The dual coil RM3 is honestly pretty close in flavor compared to the Sophia... and I have to say I was spoiled by that device. Hard to find that kind of flavor in any typical 2 or 3 post RDA. I really want to try the spiral on a Reo... I know Bill (ByLeo guy) uses it on bottom feeders, so there's a way to do it. Just maybe different squonking technique.

Regarding the RM2, I used one for a month exclusively with a single coil and rayon wicks. I started at around 0.9 ohms and found I could flood it a bit. I then dropped the resistance to around 0.5 ohms and found that even if I squonked enough to have juice come out of the air hole the vape was not a significantly flooded vape. I believe the extra power made that happen.

I'm now using a Cyclone with dual coils at 0.4 ohms (two 0.8 ohm coils). I like dual coil setups :). I also can't really flood this as long as I give it a couple of seconds after a squonk. The Cyclone also has a small air chamber like the RM2. It's got a lot of wick in it with the dual coils so I would have thought it might be more susceptible to flooding than the RM2 with a single coil but it's not. Again, I suspect it's the higher power that's helping with this.

Hope it all works out for you thewomenfolk :thumb:
