Stabwood Mods - a few questions

So your getting yourself some Good Wood? Good Move Here's my !

1. Personally I don't take my stabwood mods out of the house, they mean too much to me I do know of lots of other stabwood owners that will take there's out on a daily basis though so it all comes down to personal preference.

2. @AngeNZ has you covered on the squonk situation and also with the Pumper, I haven't squeezed my squonkers in quite a while

That's brilliant and covers all the bases. Yes I'd be a bit chary about taking one outside but that's not a problem - I don't wear a good watch when I'm gardening or working on the car

3. The only reason a stabwood mod would get cracked is a drop on a hard surface.
What would be helpful is more resin content through the mod for added hardness and also a finish on the mod for added protection(preferably a lacquer) Ange's polishing tips are great
I'm not sure what the humidity is like where you reside but stabwood is very prone to warping in high humidity. The same hints apply here, a good resin content and nice polish.

I thought the wood might need a bit of nourishment, again no problem as I'm the man who used to polish all his pipes of a Saturday morning and some lasted over 25 years with care.

Payday is the 21st when I'll order one and post when it appears.

No mate, for a first I'll go for Asmodus - though in the UK they've gone like hot cakes and seem to be getting into short supply.

Either a pumper or a Luna first off - I know I'll get both in the end so it doesn't matter which comes first I have a couple bookmarked, maybe not in the ideal colours I'd want ( like your green beauties ) but at least not in the marble finish that really doesn't appeal to me.

Sadly this didn't work out - though I ordered the mod pictured I got sent the last thing I wanted - a red marble finished Luna. I have told them this and it's going back on Monday.

This is what I got - exactly what I didn't want!

If you ordered a red stabwood Luna, you should receive one. 99% of sites list their colours as: red stabwood, blue SW, purple SW, black mosiac, white mosiac and red mosiac.

I hope you get a refund promptly

I have several AsMODus mods in stabwood. Many I bought on sale - lots of Lunas. Those I take everywhere. I’ve only broken one, and it was my own fault. The wood has held up well for me. I also have a much more expensive Lustro and Minikin in Kodama which don’t leave the house, and a lovely VA Primo that stays home, indoors. The VA is coated, so I doubt there will be any issues with that. I’ve used mineral oil on a couple Lunas but I don’t see any difference between them and the untreated ones.

I like the looks of the Pumper and Spruzza but I never bought them because I was worried about the pump mechanism, and AsMODus is weird about replacement parts - they have them, then they don’t, so either get them when you get the mod or be aware they may not always be available.

that’s a shame. Where did you buy it from? I bought one from some vape site and they sent me a red mosaic. I emailed, and they sent the one id ordered, plus let me keep the other one. Hope you get this sorted out quickly.

Well I posted the red marble one back on Monday. The seller said they'd been issued with the wrong picture by their supplier and a rebate is on the way.

I ordered a Pumper 18 on Sunday night with guaranteed delivery tomorrow and it arrived this afternoon. Now with a battery installed and the squonk bottle filled it's going great. I'm delighted with it but will polish and treat it to bring out the colours more.
