Stainless Steel Question

On the Ithaka V1 what is the difference between the Mouthpiece Stainless Steel and the rest of it?

On the Just GG what is the difference between the Stainless Steel of the Venting Cap and the AD Cap with SS CR and the rest of it ?

A little confused.

The Stainless Steel is different I don't know if its quality or the way it was made but it is different. Just curious as to why.

I thought Imeo would jump on this one?

OK what mean is its a different weight that might be an ovious answer but i was taking apart a hdd today and was thinking i would use the rare earth magnets as a holder so my just gg could be hung up i was in the middle of cleaning it and was testing the parts with a magnet the above mentioned parts did not adhere nearly as well and was wondering why.

I believe all are made from grade 303. If I understand your question right.

I made a mouthpiece once from 304 SS but I dont remember what this mouthpiece was for. I didnt find a reason to do that again

What grade of Stainless Steel and why do they have different magnetic properties is it the chromium and nickel? The magnetic permeability
is different is what I am trying to ask just curious why?

SS dont have magnetic properties adam. Maybe in a very small amount. So small that you cant really feel it. Its their composition that gives them those properties and its the steel on it

I understand that, just wondering why the difference in the above mentioned parts. This was just a question out of curiosity and SS has so many grades and even changes over time in some situations just curious.

So what I can determine is that its 303 Stainless steel Which is a Austenitic Grade and should have very low magnetic permeabilities but if there has been substantial polishing it may be more responsive to a magnet I think this may be what happening.
