I am currently a smoker of 5 years. I have been a newport smoker since I turned 18. Finally went and bought an e-cigarette at one of the local vaping shops where I live. I bought an eGo-30. It came with two clearomizers, a charger, and a 10mL bottle of any e-juice I chose. I decided to go with clove e-juice with 24mg of nicotine. I went back later that day to get a second flavor because I had an extra clearomizer. I decided on the Red Starburst flavoring - again, with 24mg of nicotine. I have been trying not to smoke my pack of cigarettes that I have but it has been an extreme challenge! Hopefully, over then next few weeks I will be strictly on my e-cigarette.

Welcome! Sounds like a good starting setup.

I'd suggest vaping often... not necessarily constantly, but enough to keep your nicotine levels up while you try to fight off the urge to smoke. E Cigs don't give the immediate nic satisfaction that cigarettes do, so it's a good idea to try to avoid that sense of desperately needing a 'fix.'

Anyway, you'll figure it out. Good luck!

I'm with you man, I just started as well (2 weeks ago). You can do it brother I promise. I've been smoking over 15 years now and have had over a pack a day habit for at least the last 5 years. I smoked one pack of cigarettes last week. I went a couple of days without smoking at all. I had one cigarette yesterday and one today (wife went out to smoke, I followed with a cig instead of my vape... my fault). At any rate, you can do it. I've been going through 2 to 3ml of 18mg juice a day and I vape constantly, but it's better than smoking cigs. I never thought I could do this but I am. Just hand in there.

Welcome

Nothing at all wrong with using the weening method. Used it myself. Every time I thought of a smoke I would vape. During some of those trigger times like after a meal I would give in. After a week I was down to a couple a day and in a month I couldn't stand the taste of those nasty things!

Your in the right place. Ask questions. Enjoy the process of doing one of the healthiest things you could ever do for yourself.

Just one word of advice, and you need to trust me on this, HIDE YOUR CREDIT CARDS !

Welcome and congrats on making the switch. There are a number of ways to go about this and there is nothing wrong with any of them. It's what works best for you. You can choose to smoke all of your remaining cigarettes so they are not a temptation. Or, you can smoke them and inter-mingle with vaping to ween off cigarettes.

Definitely stick with the 24mg at least until you are off cigarettes for good. And don't be afraid to chain vape. Your body will tell you when you've had enough. When I started, I would vape about 15ml a day. One year later I barely vape 3ml a day.

Stick with it and welcome to a healthier you.

Welcome and congratulations! I smoked 2 packs a day for over 25 years. I was able to comfortably quit using 24mg nicotine. I'm on about day 24 nown without smoking! I suggest to vape often and vape where ever you smoked. If you smoked while driving, vape instead. Substitute vaping for smoking. If you crave smoking, vape instead and the craving will pass
You can do it! I think it's wonderful you decided to quit! Congratulations again and hang in their and congratulations!

Keep trying new flavors. I went strictly to vaping last August and fell back into smoking once in a while in October. I was in a rut with only two flavors. Mixing it up will keep it fresh for you.

As for those remaining cigs, take all but two and throw them away. Leaving the last two in the pack, start wrapping the pack in duct tape. Wrap it, wrap it, and wrap it some more. If you feel like you "need" one, it's there. Vape while you are unwrapping the duct tape, and I think you will stop unwrapping after a few minutes. ;)

Congratulations and welcome! Like many, I smoked for the first couple of days while vaping. On the third day, I lit up a cigar in the afternoon (I smoked small cigars vs. cigs). Took about three drags and got a headache. Sit it down and went back to vaping. Haven't had a cigar since and no real desire for one.

Some good advise from GMayberry, switch favors often. I didn't in the beginning and got a little bored. There are a ton of favors. I now switch back and forth between three and Friday pick up the equipment to start making my own...

Hang in there and good luck!

I have been making my own for a while now. If you need any pointers from a non-pro, I'm here! :D I will never claim to make the best juice, or know all there is to know, but I have been trying and researching quite a bit, and have made some really good mixes. And a few have been flushed as well, but that will happen. I have calculated and a 15ml bottle is a total cost of around 78 cents for me!!

That is a fantastic idea! I will do that! :)

Keep up posted on how it goes!! I have my duct tape wrapped pack in the garage waiting... and that is exactly where it shall stay! My very first week owning an e-cig last August was a trip that we took with my soon-to-be in-laws, so I wasn't going to be able to smoke at all. I bought a pack, and left it sealed the entire week, got home from the trip and gave it to my neighbor still sealed. I wish then that I had an "emergency smoke" stashed somewhere, because when I went and bought that pack in October, it was only one that I "needed". I regret that 2 mile drive more than anything. It won't happen again!! :D
