I tried a no-name disposable a couple of years ago-useless.

About 3 months ago got a blu disposable. Eh, didn't do it.

Tried the njoy king about 2 months ago. Liked it a lot, if it would last more than a day.

A friend of mine got the blu kit and loved it. I figured it was with a shot-60 bucks, if I can get it to last a week, at least I break even. Made it a week, with a half a pack of analogs. (I was smoking a pack a day)

3 weeks later I had bought one pack, but realized there must be a better way. Talked to my new e-friends on ECF and decided to go full-out and get an MVP. Got it on the 1st of September and had 1 analog out of curiosity. Didn't enjoy it nearly as much. That was 2 weeks ago.

So, 15 years of smoking, a pack a day for the last 7 years. Found a half decent e-cig and cut down to a pack a month. Found a fully decent e-cig and have so far cut down to a single smoke this month. My "non smoker" friends smoke more than that! And they have one less smoker friend to bum off of!

It took me about a week to 10 days. Cutting down on cigarettes happened pretty naturally, but it was the psychological thing of not lighting up first thing in the morning that was the hardest part. On the Thursday I actually stopped, I had a meeting in another city really early in the morning and had to leave the house at 6 am...I took my little clearo-ego with me and just vaped. It made me break the "I have to have a cig in the morning to function" cycle. From there, it was a lot easier and by the week after, cigarettes just tasted disgusting and vaping was the way to go.

Wow! More than 100 chimed in here! I smoked AND vaped for about 2 years; I was subscribed to one of those brand specific programs like we see here with vape4life (tho it wasnt them or exactly that "mac'd out"). Just wasnt good enough and I didnt get the exact sweet satisfaction until I learned my own nic level/juice flavors/Th/Vape. Once I got what I really liked= I threw the analogs out and never looked back. Ive been slowly going up the ladder w/PVs since. I'll never be into DIY juice I dont think.

I bought new furniture and would only let myself smoke outside. Just so happens it was the summer here in Dallas that we had 108 degrees plus outside for 2 mos! So I would be outside suffering for nicotine. Something had to give. I got my first ego in the mail Sept 28 2011 and, while I still had a pack with one missing in my end table, I never picked up another analog. So now it's 5 days until my 2 year anniversary!!! I am sooooo excited. I'm sure no one can tell...

I've only read the first two pages, but in case we are still on the same subject...

I had two half cigarettes in the two days after I got my first little cig-alike (August 16, 2011). I had not intended to even quit. I was very skeptical, and thought at the most, I'd be able to cut down a little. I kept the remainder of the pack around until my 1 year anniversary, then threw it out. I have not wanted or craved a cigarette since, even being around cigarette smokers. Everyone is different though, and if some people need to cut down gradually, whatever works works.

So sorry to hear about your wife.

I just woke up on July 6th and said "NO MORE!!!!" Since then I've taken 1 drag and wouldn't do it again. Everyone is different I guess....

We have the same quit date! :toast:

It took about a week for me - July 6th was the day that it hit me - cigarettes tasted awful - and I put them away for good.

I smoked for 41 years and never thought I would Ever quit. I really enjoyed it. I was the last in my family to give it up. I hated going somewhere with anyone because I could not smoke so we started using our own truck even if no need. Those cold winter days outside waifs not fun either. On July 11, 2012 was the day I layed down my lighter I had 8 packs of smokes in a drawer My shipment arrived so after supper I loaded my first e-cigs and have not looked back. With the e-cig it was rather easy. Now cigs smell really bad. I can pick out anyone by odor. If I can do it, anyone can!

I didn't plan on quitting the day I bought my first setup (eGo with CE4s). I figured I'd keep it low pressure and have a smoke when I really wanted one. I had one more that day and haven't had another since, even though I drove around with 1/2 pack in my car for three weeks. That was a little over five months ago.

I had tried a couple of disposables and got briefly involved with mail vendor (they automatically send you cartridges every month, etc.). Anyway, didn't work for me - batteries died at inconvenient times and I found only one flavor I could even tolerate. Went back to smoking for about a year.

Noticed that a vape shop had opened near work. On a whim, I went in. I had no intention of quitting smoking. Heck, I'd been known to use the words 'cigarette' and 'pry out of my cold, dead hands' in the same sentence. But I figured - what the heck? Bought a ego/CE4 beginner set ($42).

I had 14 cigarettes left in a pack. Smoked 2 on the way home. Over the next couple of days, I went through 10 more cigarettes. Didn't smoke them - basically picked them up and lit them out of habit, then inhaled, realized they tasted bad, put them out, and vaped my good-tasting cherry tobacco juice. Threw away the last 2 cigarettes a few days later.

That was almost five months ago. It still amazes me.

My sequence of events...

6/28/13: Boss bought me a kit, ego battery w/CE4
6/28/13: Boss left building, I tried my first vape and it didn't work (battery wouldn't work when I pressed the button)
6/29/13: Had a cigarette at 12 noon, have not had another one since then.
6/29/13: Stopped at 7-11 at 12:15PM and bought a couple of Njoys and one Blu.
7/1/13: Boss showed dumb dumb how to turn on battery, LOL

Vaping immediately replaced my 25+ year smoking addition. How cool is that:)

I had nearly a full pack when i bought my ego kit. Joyetech to be exact, with 2 or 3 ce5 tanks.
Every day after my motorcycle ride from work to home i would light one. It was kind of a ritual. For me it was an important ritual. Eventually i ran out of smokes, then just decided i was way too lasy. Never smoked another

Another person who quit without planning on it here. Had been wanting to quit for quite some time, last time I tried was about a year ago, which lasted a couple days. I was a two pack a day smoker, so it was very difficult to quit...the thought was terrifying!

It was a ho-hum week and I had just bought a carton of smokes the day before. Ran across a thread on e-cigs which really explained nic levels, batteries and beginner (ego) kits well, so I ordered and within a couple days it was here. Wasn't done my pack for that day, but once the ego finished charging I filled up the Protank, attached it to the ego and vaped. F yeah! I feel guilty when I hear other vapers miss smokes...because I totally don't. Not only did I hate the cig companies, I felt terrible, psychologically and physically. I feel much more "aware" of my body now that its not toxined up (though I do think I can "feel" what the nic and juice do). I've had smoking-friends stay over, smoke right in front of me and no problems at all.

I have to admit, also, that I'm not totally against some of the "uncoolness" of vaping. Whereas before, you couldn't see me go anywhere without a cig burning in hand (bored? - smoke...walking? - smoke...the usual) I don't vape in public nearly as much as I used to smoke in public. I like that. I feel like I'm able to break some of the habits I've had around smoking like that (though I still have my morning on-the-toilet vape session, and my post-dinner vape).

In the end...its getting close to three months (if not past...I didn't keep track of the date), and I still have that carton in the freezer. Been vaping 2ml of 18mg at 1.8ohm, but will soon be switching to lower nic at lower ohm.

What to do with the carton? I thought about giving it to a homeless person on the street, but what kind of message am I sending...I feel like I'd be killing them. Garbage?? I'm much to cheap for that...what a shame! Such a conundrum!

Thanks to all vapers for helping me quit, it really is beyond words how grateful I am.

Break off the filters.
Put them in a blender. If you really want you can try and remove the paper as well.
Put htis in your garden. Dried tobacco is good for plants. Insects hate it, and your plants will thanks you in the morning.
You might find less mozzies & flies in summer since your garden will not be an ideal breeding ground any more.

Try it
