With his money he could put something like the GGTS into full production and i don't think the Golden Greek would turn that sort of deal away.

That's between them and the manufacturer and good luck to both... I'm sure they'd sell loads.. Great!

I'd still buy something else from anywhere else.

I hope pillbox can look at himself in the mirror -- but I'm not sure there would be a reflection!!!

I really liked UKV, you get more honest opions on vendors and products than here -- but that may be a problem for all UK-based forums.....:(

I think it will, now the precedent has been set. That vendors can shut down any forum they like with a solicitor's letter...

the sad fact of the matter is 1) People have short memories and 2)money talks; if the price is right, they'll buy.

TW will come out of this ok in the end, although I think they've lost many customers for good, the vaping community is growing fast,,,,,there will be new customers who have never heard of them. And some people will shop there if the prices are right, no matter what,,,,,,,,,,short memories. I also know that the only two local places I have to shop at BOTH sell TW exclusively,,,,,there's always people who prefer to buy locally than order online. They'll come out fine in the end. Sure there are those of us with long memories,,,,,,,who will never buy from them again, nor will we recommend them to anyone,,,,,,,but in the end, you'll be surprised how many people will have never heard of this, and how many short memories there will be from those who remember,,,,,,,,,but the price was right.

I think this is indeed the reality of it all to do with TW's business; it is unlikely to have any significant impact on their business at all...

First and foremost I send positive vibes to Jackie and her family and thanks Jackie for a great forum.

I'd like to know who are going to be the new owners? The domain name ukvapers.org was registered in the last 24 hours and I'm very curious why the domain name owner has chosen to use an ID protected service to remain anonymous?

I'm also curious why this outcome? Why not transfer the forum database over to the new owner? It's takes all but a few clicks to back-up the entire website and unpackaged on a new server/domain name? It just doesn't make any sense.

A lot of small cottage industries are now left in limbo and will lose a lot of business. We are presuming a fresh new ukvapers is going to appear that will not use any data from ukvapers.co.uk. This just doesn't make any sense to lose all the very valuable information stored on the server.

A lot has come out of the wash in this unpleasant affair and I sense that Jackie has innocently found herself in the middle of some unethical and messy business. I so totally respect and admire Jackie's integrity but can't understand why advertising on the new forum is seen as not being a good idea. There are plenty of advertisements on ECF and this must be a cash cow.

I'd love to see a community site that return any income back into the community, supporting new modders and providing a gateway for new capers to try before they buy.

Such a waste and I very much feel there is more to this than meets the eye from other third parties.

Jackie is straight up. Shame others can't match that quality.

I still don't understand HOW TW could even think of sueing UKV, surely any public forum has in the small print something along the lines of 'all views and opinions expressed by members are not those of the owners/management' ??

I feel very sorry for Jackie and totally understand why she came to the decision she did.

I didn't contribute to that thread on UKV, but did follow it as events unfolded - I'm not going to express exactly what I thought at the time (or after), but I couldn't believe what I was reading from a reputable vendor. It seems to me he (JC) was gunning for one particular Mod but decided to go after the whole Community.

I listened to the interview, absolutely astounded how he says the vaping incident on the M6 was the worst terrorist attack since the Iranian Embassy siege - where was he on 7/7 when the terrorist exploded bombs on the tube and buses?!!!

If he doesn't 'have a beef' with UK Vapers he should have withdrawn the lawsuit and actually go after the people he really has a beef with, instead he has persecuted 1000's of people who enjoyed talking about vaping on UKV (sure, there are always trolls, but they are a very small minority).

Well I was hoping that my early posting would't have been in this thread but there ya go.
I'd like to wish Jackie the fery best for the future and hope that those who perperated her personall issue will recieve their comeuppance.
Jackie, thank you for everything you have done in the name of vaping.
I'll look foreward to seeing UKV mk II get off the ground ASAP. Looks like I'll have dual membership now.
I won't comment on the past few days as I've only just got here and intend to stay.
Cheers
Adam.

If your excluding one vendor you have to exclude them all

the start of a great new manufacturing industry taking some business away from the Chinese.

What would you all do if TW became the sole distributer for the GG products, the Provari or Darwin.

To be honest, I see your point but I don't.
They have explicitely requested not to be named on ukvapers anyway, so I guess the new forum management will certainly consider to apply that to the new forum, not sure.
In general, I don't think many would object to a pre_emptive ban. Community špirit and vendors supporting this, of which there are many, come first in my opinion.

And if some cool gadgets will go unmentioned because of this, which is speculative anyway, who cares?
Better that than discovering your favourite forum, all your PMs, all valuable info so useful to newcomers and veterans alike, has disappeared into the thin air on some random company's whim.

And the generous work of mods along with all of that.
If they want to blacklist and ban, so be it, unfair for unfair, I much prefer that, and less work for the mods for sure, in the end.

I can clarify a couple of those questions Ableton:

The new UKV is owned by the previous UKV team, minus Jackie and Crossbow. So in essence, that is myself (DaveK), Prof Beard, Phil A (who for intents and purposes is our figurehead), F0GGy and OldEngineGuy. In practice, this is the team that has been running UKV for some months operationally.

This was at the request of Jackie, who wished to draw a line under the old UKV, and we respect that.

A lot has come out of the wash in this unpleasant affair and I sense that Jackie has innocently found herself in the middle of some unethical and messy business. I so totally respect and admire Jackie's integrity but can't understand why advertising on the new forum is seen as not being a good idea. We simply are not motivated to make money. It's really that simple. If/when our hosting and admin costs start approaching ECFs, then maybe we'll reconsider that, but it's not in our immediate plans to charge people anything.

I'd love to see a community site that return any income back into the community, supporting new modders and providing a gateway for new capers to try before they buy.

I hope, that with time we can build (rebuild) exactly what you describe. It's certainly what we hope we can achieve.

I hope you all enjoy your new site :) We're going to miss you here.
You won't get rid of me that easy, sorry about that CommaHolly :) I've always popped in here, it was while lurking on ECF that I discovered this mad Willy Wonka secret world, with people who must at some point have done the same as I had, typed "nicotine inhaler" in Google, expecting to get a load of big pharma ads for some dry looking health aid that doesn't do what it says it will. Instead, people were talking about "vaping" on raspberry ripple and Cherry Cola, or "dripping" Kahlua at 3.7v. I thought you were all mad as hatters.

UKV was my main crib, but you guys got me into this ;)

Wow, just heard this, thanks for that. This is about EGO, and i dont mean the ecig'. This guy brought down an entire forum over EGO thats incredible. That UK forum bent, because of the threat of being sued, and the lack of funds if that did go into effect.

I know one thing, If he tried it here with ECF, we'd all donate to ECF to fight it. The UK forum should have done the same.

Read her statement, she is not closing the site only because of him. Infact if it weren't for the personal trauma her daughter and her family are going through I would almost be willing to bet she would have reopened the site. Egos from BOTH sides are involved from what I have read and no single person is entirely to blame. I believe that until both sides can accept the fault in this that the community will remain fractured.

Had it come to that we would have done, well I certainly would and I'm sure I wouldn't have been alone. It isn't just the money though. There has to be the stomach and strength for the fight. Much as I'm a fighter I can completely understand the decisions taken in this case.
