yeah, I'm not listing anything until I have everything.

The clone switches are up, they were sort of a one off listing, mostly made as a service to existing Zen owners so they could get a steel finish replacement switch for their Zen branded devices. My future parts will all be slightly different from the official Zen stuff at least, either in aesthetic or with minor changes to machining and/or design, or parts that simply aren't available from Zen himself.

I think we're still looking good for the presale starting at the end of August. I didn't want to start it until I had parts in hand because I don't have a 100% drop dead date on delivery yet. If I could guarantee a delivery date, I'd go ahead and start the presale now for those that don't mind putting the money down and waiting but I'd hate to promise delivery on X day and have some other factor shift that date out.

It's getting closer. All the switches and tubes are done. rda is, I think about 1/3rd done, and the 510 heads are fast and easy.

News will start coming hotter and heavier soon. When I get some more protos in I'll show some more pictures and do some build videos with the dripper, the second i have a confirmed ship date, I'll post the presale and launch schedule with final pricing.

Nice work!
Looking forward to The three "post" dripper atty that will fit right on your Z2 body tubes.
Question, anything coming for the Zen2 Carto Hybrid.... maybe a gun metal top cap?

I won't be messing with accessories for 'existing' products from Zen. At least, not for a while.

My goal is to get the Brass Monkey line up out to launch the Link system, after that I'll be working primarily on heads and switches with the occasional update to the tubes ala new materials, finishes, etc. I'm also working on a few 'other' goodies that will come in time.

well, the first batches of parts are being shipped to me in the next few days, so far the first run of switches and all of the battery tubes are complete, the dripper will be coming off the line by the middle of next week and I still have ot have a number of them gunmetal coated.

There has been a minor modification to the dripper top cap though.

The machinist made a few tweaks to the numbers I provided to get a better fit (he's a great machinist). What this means, however, is that it won't fit quite right on a Zenesis without a little modification. If you buy my dripper, the cap will 'look' identical to the Zenesis top cap but in order for it to fit, you'll need to change to #16 o-Rings on the Zenesis and probably even put a little floss under the orings to build it up. The ID of the top cap is a bit larger than the Zenesis top cap now.

The cap fits like a glove, not so tight you gotta rip it off, not so loose it'll just pop off when you take your drip tip out to drip into it and it won't wiggle off with sideways pressure in your pocket.

another update... things have... shifted in manufacturing :)

I'm still going to stick pretty close to the launch schedule, but the numbers for the presale and the numbers for the launch day might be shifting a tad based on production schedules.

The current plan is a presale 2 weeks before launch. This will have a limited number of CE parts and the CE barrel of Monkeys kit as well as a small number of whole devices.

Presale orders will ship on Launch day.

On launch day I'll have another small batch of CE (the final ones) and a small batch of whole devices (switch+head+body).

Whole devices will be slightly discounted from the price of a 'build your own' device, these are intended to be there for first time buyers or folks just investing in the Z2 system. The majority of the system will be sold in pieces and priced accordingly.

I'm going to scrub my numbers today and post up the final sales prices for the entire line up.

Ok, here's the final numbers and how the "whole device" vs a la cart options will work. I will be selling the entire system a la cart, however, there will, at each major restock, be at least a handful of whole devices put up.

The whole device will be listed as a combination of all the parts, so it'll cost the same as if you were buying each part individually. However, I will provide a coupon code that is one time use per customer that will give you 10% off the purchase of an entire device.

My reasoning, which I feel important to share, is this. It's a system, the entire point of the Z2 line is to be able to get a tube from X, a switch from Y and a head from Z to build your perfect device. I don't want folks to feel like the 'best deal' is to buy a bunch of whole units. However, I want to promote the adoption of the system in general so I'm gonna offer that 'starter' coupon for 10% off.

So, the "CE" part of this will be only sold in 'whole devices'. There will be each form factor (350, 490, 650) with each head (510, RDA). It will also include a custom, limited run Drip Tip from Captivape, a 30mm long Wide Bore tip.

The CE devices will have gunmetal nano coating on the Steel parts, the brass will stay brass. So that means, the body of the switch, the 510 connector, the RDA deck and RDA cap will all be gunmetal nano coated. The drip tips will also be Gunmetal.

There will be a CE "Pack" that includes 1 of each battery tube, 1 of each head, 1 switch and 1 drip tip.

The parts prices are as follows and are "final". I put that in quotes because we're not out of the woods completely yet and if something comes up last minute that raises or lowers my cost significantly, I"ll adjust accordingly.

Standard Z2 switch: Brass button, steel body, gold plated contacts : 65$
CE switch: Brass button, Gunmetal body, gold plated contacts : 75$
18650 Tube: brass with Machined Steam Monkey logo: 42$
18490 Tube: ^ : 40$
18350 tube: ^ 38$
510 head: Stainless body, gold plated center pin, knurled sides : 28$
CE 510 head: Gunmetal plated stainless body, gold plated center pin, knurled sides: 38$
RDA: Stainless cap, 1/16th inch air hole, dual ground screws, gold plated center pin and ground screws, stainless deck: 80$
CE RDA: same as above, but all stainless parts gunmetal coated : 110$
CE Drip tip: Stainless Steel drip tip, 30mm long, Wide bore for easy dripping, gunmetal coated : 24$ (some tips will be available separately).

So, add up those prices to configure your the form factor of choice

so...

I have a number of designs on my table right now. I want to get some consumer feedback on it, but I'm sort of limited in "business related posts" here by ECF (Completely understandable, they've got A LOT of vendors and have to be fair, not complaining here...).

I don't necessarily want to swamp this post with dialogue on future Link products but I do want to get as much consumer feedback as possible on my ideas. Any thoughts on how to accomplish that? I'd like to get a decent sized audience for these questions, and frankly, I don't think 1 thread in this, extremely busy forum, is gonna cut it.

Post what you can on here and keep everyone informed. It's your thread so don't feel that you are swamping the thread. We like that you are keeping us informed so keep it up. Myself and a few others would be happy to beta test.
