Looks very similar to Vapor Alley's CE3 XL Clearomizers. Anyway, always love your reviews and infectious joie de vivre, thanks! :)

I think you are right about that. I can't see from the picture on their website but they link to that filling video and that one sure looks just like this Phoenix. Thanks!!

What's the capacity of the carto, and what ratio of PG/VG was the juice you used?
Thanks.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that in the video. The gotvapes fellow commented under my video on youtube that it is 1.6ml. I know that when I refill it, I get just about 1ml, but of course some of the eliquid is still in there.

Clouds of Vapor Butterscotch ... hum, I buy their natural organic, but it does not say on the cov website what the vg/pg ratio is, or I'm not finding it right now. It just says "organic certified flavors" and "organic certified vg"

The Gotvapes Lasso I also vaped in this is all pg.

I have not tried an all VG juice in this, unless the COV Butterscotch is all-VG, but it doesn't seem thick enough.

Nice review, Steeljan! I'm having less than stellar luck with clearomizers...tried the "Stardusts" and the Vision 2.5 ml clearo. Both darken the juice and wick unreliably, in spite of laying the pv on its side and tipping while vaping. The Vision 2.5 ml ones are EXPENSIVE, too. I hope these are good - I will sure try one out when they're available for sale.

What's the deal with wicking material? I didn't notice any wicks sticking out of the holes, but it just may be I couldn't see them in the video. Is this thing wickless... where we won't have to worry about singeing them and getting burnt taste???

Also, what stops juice from slowly gaining up the center tube into your mouth? Is it a pressure/vacum/gravity thing? Do you see this as a potential problem?

Thanks a bunch for the review.

OMG, Jan - it's so good to see you on video again! :p

These aren't made out of polycarbonate like most other clearos, are they? I wanna make the switch from filler cartos, but don't wanna go polycarbonate because of BPA and cracking issues. Also very excited that GotVapes is about to come out with these for 808s...

The more I look at the pics and vids, the more I'm sold - the plastic looks more like polypropylene/polyethylene, which is food-safe (unlike polycarbonate) and a lot more chemical resistant. Also, Bad's video shows that it can be taken apart, cleaned and dry-burned, so I'm guessing they'll last a long, long time. Plus, they don't cost much more than regular cartos, and they're a lot easier to maintain. :)
Hopefully when they come out with the 808 version, they'll offer it in 2.8-3.0, like they do for their Fluxomizers - that would probably work better with my Volt stuff than the 2.6-2.8...

I have been using the new Phoenix 510 BC in 2.4-2.6ohm for a few days now and I can confirm how awesome this is. They use every single drop of liquid efficiently with loads of vape and flavor. I'm just terrible at re-filling it, and tend to overfill. They do not leak 1 drop. Although I did have one leak a very slight amount when it was 90% empty, I removed it from the threading and shook it. The vacuum that holds the liquid lessens as there is less and less liquid is inside, so its best to just keep on the threads if possible to keep the vacuum in tact, then no leaks, ever. I had been using a LR DC carto, not anymore :) I can't recommend the new Phoenix Bottom coil enough.

I have't tried the 2.6-2.8ohm version yet and I am not sure what the difference is or would be?

Added: I use 100% VG 30-day steeped liquid and is very thick and have had no wicking issues with the Phoenix and average 215-240 long puffs per fill with my iTaste set to 3.9v. I found a use for the puff counter :2cool:

Thanks for that update Gordong11 - I've been eyeballing these for awhile now. Tried several different kinds of clearos and haven't like any of them so far. Biggest issue being leakage and loss of flavor. The Phoenix sounds like it conquers both of those issues. Hmm ... guess it's time to take the plunge :)

I bought 'em too and have been impressed. However, unlike gordong11, my thicker juices (not all VG either) have had a little difficulty feeding. I have to take primer puffs and then sometimes it pulls too much. Mine seen to vape better at lower voltage too, I.e. around 3.6-3.8v. Thats just my thoughts, other folks have different scenarios.

I think those are the main issues too. Fortunately, I just vape thinner juices and at lower voltages. I couldn't recommend them to someone who insisted on Boba's Bounty at 6v. I love them though, and went ahead and ordered 10 boxes. I wouldn't surprised if they lasted over a year. Glad to find a juicing method I could rely on. My experimentation with different methods and products is the only thing that ...... me off about vaping world.

I trim the wicks @ a 45 degree angle for my 70/30 PG/VG and they are good to go. This seems to also bring out more flavor.
Even though most of my juice is 70/30, some is thicker than others. I gently rock the tube, which will raise the center post allowing more flow.
On my 50/50 juice I trim the wicks almost flush and life is good.

One vendor explained that a lot of devices are made for the mass population that uses 100% PG and that is why some devices do not wick as well. Is this true? Dunno, but it sounded good.

I've used the BetterLife CE3/CV3's since the 1st part of April and now it's the only weapon in my arsenal.
I don't mind doing slight modification for a little satisfaction :)

Yeah, I cant say I was .........Rather annoyed that I had to (still do) but from 5 different vendors to get what I wanted. But heck, we have to go to different stores all the time because one store does not have everything. Its the shipping from 5 different vendors that get ya. When I started vaping there was NO vendor that I know of that offered free shipping. Now at least we can get the essentials with free shipping from a few. Bottoms up:D
