So...about one hour in the Ultrasonic Cleaner is the general thought? I understand that some juices require more or less but just trying to understand the issue and get a ballpark number?

The very very very general rule of thumb is an hour in the UC = a week of steeping on the top shelf of your closet. This is dependent on the % of PG/VG. I'm a 100% PG guy and my tobacco flavors take 2 - 3 hours. Danny's more complex tobacco flavors take 4 - 5.

... please provide direct links and name/model numbers and thoughts on specific Ultrasonic Cleaners which permit me to dial in one hour and forget it please?

I wish I could. I'm the guy who upgraded from a 3 minute cycle to an 8 minute cycle model. IF I would have Googled a bit more I would have found a UC model with a 30 minute cycle ... for 2 dollars more. Somewhere in this thread is the model you're looking for but I'm too envious to go look for it.

Some fantastic thoughts. I tried to read everything but I'm still confused so your help would be great.

- Assuming I have both oars in the water, please provide direct links and name/model numbers and thoughts on specific Ultrasonic Cleaners which permit me to dial in one hour and forget it please? I understand these costs more and their are ways to save tons of money BUT I have three vapers and lots of juice and don't have the inclination to constantly fiddle with 3 minute max time Ultrasonic Cleaners.

Thanks in advance for your help. :)

This is the one I ended up buying:
NEW 2 5L Stainless Steel Commercial Ultrasonic Cleaner W Timer Heater Jewelry | eBay

It's pretty awesome and worth the cash IMHO... but I use it for other stuff too

There's a topic about it here but it seems everyone's focused on using ultrasonic cleaners because they can be had pretty cheap.

Here's a home made magnetic stirplate in action (not mine): Showing you my homemade stirplate - YouTube

I would also pose that only very large quantities can be mixed in a magnetic stirplate. If someone only wanted to mix 10ml it would be more difficult ;)

good point. I would also think you can only do one bottle at a time.

Depends what your definition of "very large quantities" is.
I'm always mixing 25ml (1 small bottle) at a time. Yes, 10ml is about the minimum you can do this way but certainly doable.

... What I need to know please, is what temperature to set the water at? I mainly use tobaccos and they generally require a longer steeping time. I'm figuring 3 hours steeping time.....Just comfused about water temperature. Thanks for any help you can give me!

If you can set the temp ... set it at 120 -125. Most of us have discovered just running the UC keeps the water pretty warm without having to turn on the heating option. I run one 8 minute cycle with heat ... one cycle with the heat off. Back and forth like that for 2 - 3 hours. And yeah ... just tobacco flavors take 2 - 3 hours. The more complex tobaccos 4 - 5.

I bought this nice ultrasonic cleaner last week. Amazon.com: 1/2 Gallon Digital Heated UltraSonic Cleaner Stainless Steel Ultra Sonic Gal: Health & Personal Care It has the ability to run an hour or longer and has heat for the water. Looks pretty wicked. If I dislike the one I ordered, I'll return it for that beauty. As for water temp, a lot of members drop their bottles in water that is just below the boiling point. I can't imagine you can go wrong at 140F.

unless it cooks the nicotine right out.

I don't know where the 125°F figure came from but that's what's generally accepted as a safe temp around here.

Mowgli a friend of mine who mixes liquids professionally told me to steep all the ingredients BEFORE adding the nicotine to keep it from cooking out. Hmm. Thanks for all your help!

I'd do that if I ran a vapor business.

I run my 3 minute automatic UC for 30-60 minutes at a time.
I replace "hot" water in it with cool using a turkey baster.
Heat isn't what I'm after for my juice.
I just want a giant head start on it's steeping.

I keep it as cool as I have attention/energy for.
I'm sure heat is good for neither the nicotine or the UC's motor.

Interesting. For us non-uc people I've always heard to drop the mix in very hot pre boil water. I've never noticed any drop in nic. However, I mostly use glass bottles if that matters. I also steep with lids on and shake the bottles quite a bit. A routine I hope to somewhat eliminate with an UC. Good to know thought!

Theory is hotter molecules run around with their asses on fire mixing together better :)
I think it's a case of a little is good but a lot is not necessarily better.

I used hot water steeps before I got an UC and it seemed to quicken things.
