I am so glad to see folks whittling away at steep times. For all those who have the same capacity for patience (none) as I have ... Keep Me Posted on your GUCE progress.

A lot of threads going on about steeping lately. I've been busy sharing my experiences so far, with the GUCE.
Receiving alot of 'likes', but i'm not taking credit on this. If anybody deserves credit, it's Bobalex. He got me into this GUCE. I'm just loving it.
Now, i standard put all of my bottles (test and stock juice) in the ultrasonic, using it almost daily and having great results on most of the flavors (not all of them need steeping).

I just wanted to thanks to Bobalex for this technique, I bought a ultrasonic cleaner from Brook Stone and have ran fresh Butterscotch/Caramel juice through for about 3 hours and it's tasty and ready to vape. It went in clear and came out a nice dark yellow color.

So you're an official GUCEr too now :)

bobalex- Your vid is GREAT! and this idea is too! Thank you.
Now, time for me to give back and you to dig out your $25 ultrasonic. I got (what appears to be) the same model at Harbor Freight about 2 years ago for cleaning coins. I also had one of these timers from H.F., although I might upgrade to one of these. :2cool:

I know you see where I'm going with this .. so, here's what makes it all work. A rubber band around the cleaner that lays across the 'on' button. Yup. :D That simple. And, the rubber band not only holds the on button down it quiets the unit down and I think it might trap the heat better. My hot tap water is HOT and it was 137 deg F when I poured it in, and 1 hour later it was 162 deg F. so I think using the timer to give the poor unit and juice a chance to cool a bit might be a good idea.

I've only just tried this today so I have no clue if the Chinese unit will catch on fire or just die a quicker death, or hopefully neither. But, it works. Offered in the tradition of Paybacks shouldn't always be He**.

On the condition that you make more vids though.

Lurks-a-lot chiming in here. :p

This is an honest question: What's wrong with a hot cup of water set on a misc. vibrating surface in your house? For example, I am trying a box fan right now, but my noisy old computer that I'm always beating to shut up might be perfect too. My fridge could be an option but it's not constant. (Box fan seems like it has more oomph and I use it every night to get to sleep anyway.)

Oh! How about a $20 heated foot bath? I think I'll try this if the box fan doesn't pan out. Electric bills could be a consideration though.

We'll see how it works. Frankly, I don't know if this FSUSA butterscotch can be saved anyway. It's absolutely tasteless. (2 hours on the box fan produced no difference so far.)

Second question: What's the matter with simply dumping more flavor in smaller batches you can vape right away (before the flavors distort)? I am just experimenting based on your advice right now, but I haven't seen much that saves a flavor I didn't like out of the mailbox. Steeping not only doesn't help, they tend to lose their taste completely after a few weeks. (Exceptions: cinnamon or mint completely dominates after a while.)

I do understand if tobacco flavors are more subtle and refined. I ask because my desert flavors seemed to succumb pretty well to this sledge-hammer method when I tried it a couple of years ago... And because I have NO patience. I want Yumminess now! :p

So is all this steeping business worth it?

For reference: I like non-tobacco, sweet flavors. I'm vaping the Vision clearomizer 2.4ohm. My past juices: FreedomSmokeUSA, Tasty Vapor, Gourmet Vapor, TotallyWiked, and lately Dekang, which keeps its flavor but the taste is hit or miss.

I couldn't disagree with your opinion on steeping more. I've mixed up several juices that were totally unvapable but were absolutely great after steeping. This is more common in tobacco than in non-tobacco juices. However, I have found several which were saved by steeping, like a Tiramisu and a grape cola. They were raw before steeping and smooth and tasty afterwards.
I believe in steeping so much that I have an Ultrasonic Cleaner in the mail right now. Thanks, OP.

I guess I'll experiment. The Butterscotch I steeped on my box fan last night never gained any flavor, in spite of what the reviewers on FSUSA said about it. However, I got the straight flavoring in the mail today (Lorann) and it also tastes like nothing. (Busted! It's on my Yuck list.)

So my impatience won this round and I dumped oodles of delicious Butter Rum flavoring into the bottle. The whole room smells like a candy factory now. I'm a happy camper. It might turn into something crazy once marinated, but I doubt it will last that long.

Now that I've beaten that bottle into shape it should tide me over while I do some true steeping experiments. I bought 18 concentrated flavors. Think I'll try making Tiramisu out of Eggnog, Keoke Coffee, and a drop of Chai. *Slurp!*

Question: How do you guys judge pre-steeped mixes? Frankly, trial-and-error intimidates the crap out of me. I am thankful for the great quick-steeping ideas in here.

Bravo, Bravo!! Encore, Encore!! May I have another, please??

(I feel like I'm at the opera and Animal House).

Absolutely superb

Jeez ... with that sort of endorsement I guess I'll tackle my next project. When I first started vaping I read (and re-read) Don DaBoomVape's The Wonderful World of Vaping: An Illustrated Guide to E-cigs. I'm thinking of doing a video version along those lines. Now all I need is time.

like your videos - very entertaining. i'm thinking of trying DIY - reason i'm reading theses threads. couple questions on ultrasonic cleaners. i have one for cleaning DCtank carts. i use my carts for about 3 days. after 3 days the flavor becomes muted. if i go much
longer the cart becomes too gunked up restricting air flow. my process is soak them in vodka a couple days then run them through the ultrasonic cleaner filled with vodka a few minutes. i cant really tell how well the ultrasonic cleaner works. since the coils are protected by the tube do you think vibration still reaches the coils? I think i'll up my time from 3 minutes to 15 and see what happens. Also, some of the liquids i buy need steep time. In fact most do. I've noticed liquids that are good straight from the mail box are at their best when i reach the last ml. my second question is do you have a ratio for uscleaner minutes/one day steep time? think it would be great to buy a liquid and not have to wait a week or two to vape. also, some liquids become weaker over time. i'm thinking its due to too many molecules escaping the bottle. could that result from repeatedly opening a bottle that isnt fully steeped and couldnt it be avoided by placing the bottle in a uscleaner first. i guess i'm assuming that a liquid that hasnt fully steeped is more likely to allow the free molecules to escape. and i guess too i'm assuming a fully steeped liquid will keep the molecules locked in place. thanks and happy holidays

... do you think vibration still reaches the coils?

My experience with carto cleaning with the US was not consistent. I've always been an All Tobacco - All The Time 100% PG e-liquid vaper. My cartos didn't get gunked up as fast as my sister's did. She's uses a caramel mocha that's 30% VG. And I had better results with horizontal coils than the vertical coil cartos. But now I use tanks just about all the time. Specifically these:

TURBO EZ KIT

CLEAR AND EASY ELITE TANKS

GO GO PREMIUM TANKS

GOGO FURY TANKS

Ease of use and performance has finally arrived.

Now the US Cleaner is used primarily to cut steep time from 3 weeks to One Day.

... my second question is do you have a ratio for uscleaner minutes/one day steep time?

When I make my 3 tobacco flavors I've found that three 70ml bottles of juice in the US for 192 minutes gives me the same quality of vape that I used to have to wait 3 weeks for.

... think it would be great to buy a liquid and not have to wait a week or two to vape.

Abso-freakin'-lutely.

And Happy Holidays to you too.
