So 2 days ago I bought a bottle of 12mg from 18, and all that happened is I take a longer draw with double inhale, and about 600 puffs as opposed to 3-400 (counted on evic.) I'm thinking maybe after a few days of this I will naturally go back to normal amount of vaping, but I'm really tempted to buy some 18 today when I go to the shop. I want to get to zero nicotine only because I don't want to constantly be in withdrawal between puffs. Any tips?

I JUST posted this a few minutes ago in another thread, but you asked the exact question I was addressing. I hope it helps!

When I step down I like to mix the stronger juice and weaker juice 50/50 making a kind of 1/2 step down. Like half 24 and 18. I'll vape that for a couple of days before going, in this example, to 18.
Just what has worked for me. I started at 24 and I am at 12. Im thinking of stepping down to 6 sometime soon but no hurry. Lol. It isn't pain free. I will vape more often for a lil while. But its a heck of a lot easier then trying to cut back on smoking!!

I've been at this a while, and have been at 0 nic for a while before. Currently I'm up to around 6-10. Hey, at least I haven't gone back to analogs! :)

What's worked for me is to step down gradually. When I was at 24mg I stepped down to 12 by using the 12 over a full weekend just to see how it would go. Then over the course of the next week I used 12 most of the time, but kept a tank filled with 24 just in case I was jonesing for it, which I did go to especially just after lunch (a big "trigger time" for smoking for me). After that although I kept some 24mg around for a while, I found that I didn't need it.

Grace's idea sounds like it should work too. The basic idea is the same. I've found that once you have stepped down for a while and realize that you aren't freaking out then you're good to go.

0 nic is a different story. Although I've been able to be on 0 nic for quite a while (a few weeks at a time), I've somehow always relapsed back to some kind of low nic. One of my problems has been that some juices don't taste nearly as good without it (not sure why that is). At least I'm stable at 6-10mg. And to be honest, I'm fine with that. I mostly use 6mg, but when I feel the need, I'll bump it up a little. 12mg is now too strong for me to vape (I get the jitters), even when I'm stressed out.

I started at about 24 when I quit analogs, then bought some decent flavors from TastyVapor, who sell a high nic 1oz and what they call doublers, which are 0nic 2oz or 4oz bottles. with that I've been mixing down to lower and lower nic values over the last couple months. I've eased down to about 6 in that time. I can see myself eventually getting down to 0nic and still enjoying the vape. I think there may be a psychological aspect too, at this point... enjoying vaping, but wondering "why bother if there's no nic?" ... maybe that's just me. Kind feel at this point that I'm more addicted to the process (and shopping, damnit) than I am to the nic, but the nic kinda comes along for the ride.

I started at 24 and now 2 months later I'm going down to 18. I used the 24 to quit the analogs and now just coasting along smoothly with the 18's. I'm also vaping the low nic juices later at night so I can fall asleep better. The nic is a stimulent and sends your mind a racin especially when your trying to get to sleep.

I went from 18 mg to zero in about 10 months, so quite gradually. I vaped more after each change in nic level, then after a while got back to normal. I've now been at zero for a few months and am lowering the amount I vape. Went from a high of about 4 ml a day to less than 2 now on a RBA which uses a lot of juice. I have no plan to stop vaping, but find it nice not to have to take a PV with me all the time when I go out. This worked for me, but as always we are all different and YMMV. The most important thing IMO is that you stay off smokes.

When I lowered my nic levels each time I wanted to step down I did so by using some of the lower level nic each day between vaping my regular level nic juice. Every few days I vaped more of the lower level and less of the higher level until the lower level became my all day level :) After a couple of week on my new regular level I started the process over again to reduce my nic level down to a lower all day level.

Don't rush the process. Take your time and don't worry about a day that you find yourself vaping the higher level or days you find yourself vaping more with the lower level then you did with the higher level. As long as you're not smoking all is good :)
