Is yours the orange color after 5 weeks? I'm using the FW Van Custard and it taste better than it smells. It does not taste like Van custard I have bought though. Steeping may change that, I hope. Whats odd is that I have bought Van Custard juice from well knowns and it arrived yellow and turned orange within days. It was also good as soon as it arrived, Mine DIY is not though. lol This is what I do not understand.

I didn't say it took 5 weeks to become orange. I was only indicating the age of my DIY. I does change color quickly. It's orange after several days and becomes deeper with age. I've never bought a pre-made Van Custard to enjoy. But I can tell you my DIY VC sucks. I guess I have to get the real thing and do a bit of research.

Quick question...............I had read and heard that the flavor should come to a total of 20%. Per the screen shot on Pg1, total is over 35%. Is this like adding a shot of "extra" flavor. Just looking for tips as wife and I are gonna start trying DIY flavors.

This is the only recipe I have ever used at such a high percentage. This is the richest, sweetest, most fantastic mouthful of goodness I've ever tasted. It's out of the ordinary, most flavors at higher percentages get muted or completely disappear. However, the 15% Capellas Vanilla Custard can go even higher if necessary {up to 20% without getting muted} but PLEASE do not think you can flavor every liquid this high. Check the forums for the flavors you are going to use, look for the recommended percentages, and tweak it up or down from there. I guarantee if you put 20% of TFA flavoring in, you are not going to like the results.

Which recipe. The very first one on the screen shot, or the revised one further into the thread? My juice is not coming out the way I thought it would. I suspect the FW Van Custard is the culprit. :(

followed this thread when people were posting but only now have some of the missing ingredients. As far as the vanilla custard I have both TFA and FA. In the FA I pick up more of the lemon note than I do with the TFA. FA is very dark while the TFA is yellow. also have two graham crackers - same thing - the TFA is dark while the ECX signature is lite brown. I thought ecx sign was suppose to be TFA but not these two. I don't have TFA smooth but do have FA MTS vape wizard. the MTS stands for mellow thick and smooth and should sub ok.

CAP vanilla custard 10%
FA custard 5%
FA sweetner 6%
TFA whipped cream 3.5%
CAP eggnog 2%
FA MTS vape wizard 2%
TFA graham cracker 1.5%
CAP butter 1.75%

getting ready to mix it at 60/40 PG/VG 12.5mg nicotine. then ultrasonic 10 eight minute cycles shaking between cycles. then day 2 and 3 will shake from time to time, not real hard shakes. on day 4 will open the bottle for first time to smell and vape.

Why certainly :)

I tried this today with a few tweeks.

I used
Capella Vanilla Custard 15%
TFA Sweetener 2%
TFA Whipped cream 3.5%
TFA double chocolate 2% I didn't have anything like eggnog
TFA smooth 2%
Capella graham cracker 1.5%
TFA sweet cream (tastes like butter) 1.75%

I have already vaped 2 ml of my 3ml test batch. I don't know how anyone lets this steep. It is really good. I just made a 30 ml batch and substituted vapingzone sc gourmet mocha for the chocolate.

I went to olive garden for lunch today and the waitress got excited about my cigalike. She had an ego in her apron pocket and some nasty cheap juice. I let her try mine, which was this recipe with mocha, and she instantly wanted to start diy. I wrote notes on her order pad and sent her here for this recipe. Thought I would share. This is really good stuff.

Well I think I might have to get into DIY just to make the kind of custard I want. My cuban grandmother used to make her version of vanilla custard when I was a kid and ever since she died a decade ago she took that recipie to her grave. I've been looking around for custards that have the notes I remember she would add to the custard, the two big differences I've seen missing from most custards is Graham Pie Crust and Lemon Peel. After using this thread for inspiration and browsing through the Capella and TFA flavor listings I came up with this:

I took care not to pick flavors that mentioned alcohol or dyacetil in their contents (hence the cinnamon spice instead of straight cinnamon). Going for the highest possible VG content, this should end up at around 30/70 pg/vg. What do you guys think? Should I go for it and order all the flavors?

Was just reading about TFA's cheesecake saying it smells and tastes pretty rancid. I picked it because the description states the presence of graham crust in the flavor thinking the cheesecake part would add a touch of cheesy creaminess. Thoughts?

I also read a post in this thread mentioning FA Vanilla Custard in that it had a hint of Lemon. What vendor is FA?

Regarding the flavor selections and knowing that taste is subjective would these flavor selections from these vendors be the highest possible quality?

I think I'll order Capella's and Flavour Art's Vanilla Custard the the Capella Lemon Meringue and see what combination I like best. I'm guessing the Lemon Meringue will add more of the Egg flavor to the vape witch I think is key to a good custard.

TFA Cheesecake is pretty gross. TFA Cheesecake Graham Cracker Crust is actually very good. Lorann Cheesecake is better for a straight cheesecake flavor.
