My CA flavors will be in next week, then I'll have all necessary ingredients required! Any kind of "cream" flavoring tastes funky to me inside of a week, especially the Bavarian variety (I get hints of melted plastic in a fresh mix). With so many cream elements in this mix, I'm definitely going to be throwing a small batch into the trusty UC for a couple of hours to see how much of a difference a good steep makes. Looking forward to it.

Knowing me, I'll probably try to squeeze some of this Hangsen vanilla into the recipe somehow, as I've grown very attached to it the past few days. It really is one of the better vanilla flavorings I've tried.

I made a 5ml batch of this last night with a few random tweaks. My egg nog broke in the mail so I substituted with Bavarian cream at 2% and used 3% sweetener.

The result is pretty damned delicious, may be a bit PG heavy as I got lazy and topped the flavors off with 70/30 nic base. After I let this steep I'll try it at 30/70 and adjust the sweetener, maybe add a drop of em.

I've never tried gvc but I don't think I'll need to, good work! :D

Stevo, I made your true recipe to the exact letter! Closing it up in the cabinet, I swear I won't touch it for a week! I may gaze longingly at it for a while but I promise to let it steep at LEAST one week before tasting it.

You're the man!

By the way, now I need to buy the Hangsen vanilla Retrox. I only have about 10 vanillas in the box right now, there's always room for one more!

You may be interested to know that I don't even know what this juice tastes like steeped. The first few test batches where 3ml and didn't last long at all as I vaped through them with my tester's palette in high gear. Then I made 2 15ml batches, only the 2nd one being the absolute final(tweaked) blend, and they went very fast too as I found them really good fresh. But I ran out of VC flavor so now I've got nothing left to vape, let alone let steep, until I re-up.

But I realized a few days ago that I still had a few mls left of 2 different early tests that I felt at the time didn't go well and had put aside. They've steeped for a couple of weeks now. Because they're very similar, I combined them... and, low and behold, while still not as good as the current blend, it is quite delicious! I have no idea (don't remember) what the blends are, all I know is that one of them had TFA caramel original (which I think is terrible!). But steeping did something marvelous. Still, I'm sure the nasty caramel takes something away from it. But I'm thinking a really good caramel might add something magical to this mix.

I will say this: the cream - in this case the Whipped Cream flavor - does blossom more than the other flavors with steeping. I may actually lower the percentage a teeney bit, as I love the custard and vanilla flavors best. The cream is just to round them out, soften them so to speak.

I should also note that I didn't go through any exhaustive testing to determine which is the best cream-like flavor to add... it's just that the TFA Whipped Cream was all I had on hand. So experiment away.

I can only hope the eggnog is less like cinnamon than the substitution I made, because that batch tasted like cinnamon with vanilla custard in the background. It was good, but I think the real deal is downright awesome. As for flavors on hand, I have like 10 vanilla flavors, including pure vanillin, and about 4 or 5 creams. It's a bit dizzying. Thanks again!!

Vego, that TFA caramel works well for me, but only in the right mix and in small quantities. I make a sort of RY4-type with it, bavarian cream, TFA french vanilla (using the Hangsen for my next batch), and VZ black cigar and it's very nice. The trick with getting that caramel to play nice is finding the right flavor to mute the horrid "toasted" note on the inhale. If you can manage that, the flavor on exhale and aftertaste of the TFA caramel is soooo good! In the case of my RY4, that toasty note actually gives a bit more body to the black cigar. I agree though, in a mix with a delicate predominant flavor like vanilla it probably wouldn't work too well.

So, on a related note, I went kind of crazy and ordered some Stevia Vanilla Creme sweetener. I've been meaning to experiment with the liquid Stevia as an e-juice sweetener, so last night when I ran across their flavored line, I went ahead and sprung for a bottle. It's supposedly incredibly potent, so I'm planning on cutting the heck out of it with some PG so I can try it in tiny quantities before I potentially murder any hardware with it. I figure if it doesn't work out, I'll just save it for my coffee. I've got tons of juice that could benefit from a bump of sweetness AND vanilla, so my fingers are crossed.

FinallyQuit, what are your thoughts on the vanillin? I've been meaning to try it, but I keep ordering other stuff instead. You get that from TFA, right?

Just mixed this up with some very liberal substitutions.

VZ Cream for whipped cream, a combination of cinnamon danish, marshmallow, and peanut butter (!) for the eggnog and butter, and EM in place of TFA Smooth. May should have used cheesecake in place of the cinnamon danish. Hmmm.

So, I'll report back.....but it's probably not even close to the original recipe's intended flavor.

Why certainly :)

I bought all the flavors needed and made some yesterday. The thought of not needing to steep because its just that damn good made me want to try this! I've made this to the exact ingredients. Smell and taste weird, I'm not even sure if the flavors are correct. I also bought some pomegranate flavor and it turned out to be raspberry that's why I don't even know if the flavors I got are correct. I guess you learn as you go. From now on I am going to buy the flavors directly from the source. This is so frustrating!!

I'm getting a sharp sweet smell and then a hint of melted plastic. The vape taste like chemicals, nuts, very tiny hint of coconut, and a sharp sweetness.

mixed some up about 4 days ago...today the smell is amazing! Like a sweet, rich & creamy vanilla...however I had to try it the first day after a healthy hot water bath and shake...it was "eh"..as I expected..Tasted it today and it is significantly better! Going to give it about 3 more days..while I make more...! thanks for the recipe..:)

To me the flavor of Capellas Vanilla Custard is horrid compared to the smell. I've mixed it with many things and I always get a flavor of burnt plastic (as the above poster mentioned) or barf. It's not my atty, this I'm sure about. I guess that's why it's recommended to steep this for up to a month. I ordered the items listed in the recipe but will use FW graham instead of TPA. I make my own sucralose mixture. Has anyone else experienced unfavorable flavor from the vanilla custard and noticed that it gets much better with time?

Are you guys getting that lovely orange coloring on your custard DIYS after steeping a bit? I just did a 30 ml of stevos recipe with a few tweaks. Van custard, Bavarian cream, Butter cream, Graham cracker. I added no sweetener as it is plenty sweet, but is very clear. Taste is mehh so far. Hoping this steeps into something great.

It turns to a deep orange-amber with time. Mine still tastes like vomit after 5 weeks

I guess the CAP Vanilla Custard isn't for me. Nothing seems to mask the burning plastic taste.
