When I first started vaping I tried patched with 0 nic juice, didn't work. I struggled with that for a few weeks and went back to analogs for a month or so. I then got some 18mg ejuice and have not touched nor really had any desire to, an analog in close to two weeks. Just my experience.

Thank you for sharing your patch experience with me. The more replies I have read related to the patch has me rethinking about trying it. I'm going to give the new eroll kit a try and see if that is more satisfying.

I am glad I started with cig a likes, then 510-Ts it gave me the whole smoking a cigarette feel. To be honest the nearest thing to an actual smoke I have tried was my original Greensmoke kit.

I just don't know what to try next and am extremely frustrated and angry at myself for not being able to transition.

I was not able to quit til I stopped buying analogs.

I went home over weekend with no tobacco/smokes, decided to "vape til monday". Made me nervous, but by Monday I had begun to LOVE vaping and enjoyed myself to the max.

Before that, while still smoking, I could not enjoy vaping to it's full extent.

Not saying this will work for everyone, it worked for me.

I suggested this to my brother, who was vaping AND smoking and was still smoking after 4 months. He took my advice.....didn't buy any tobacco......a few days later he was vaping full time. :) and no more ciggies.

I think there has to be a part of you that just holds your nose, yells "GERONIMO!" and takes the plunge. Otherwise, ciggies willl be the crutch.

Try vaping longer before going to an analog I have noticed that it takes me longer with vaping to get past that urge. I have to get up about 10 to15 minutes earlier so I get enough in the morning.

Thank you for the suggestion :)

Truthfully, I don't remember if I said this earlier so just throwing it in here. Juice is so important to making the transition. What do you want to do first thing after eating? Bingo! After years of smoking, there's no way you brain is going to accept a food taste as having smoked. And vaping food tastes just made me want to smoke more. I went to a smokey juice that tasted and felt like smoking. Without that juice I would never have made it. Now I vape tobacoo flavors exclusively. Some do have food flavors in them like maple or vanilla or cherry but they all give that smokey feel and I use them in moderation... in the evening mostly. Every time I vape one of my left-over dessert or fruit flavors I bought early on, I want to smoke. Then I have my tobaccos to get through the urge. Don't let anyone deter you from tobacco vapes if there's a chance it will help you. There are really mild ones out there that give that smokey without strong tobacco flavor. But, those people who are really, really, into tobaccos tend to go for the strong tobaccos so be leery of those too but should you vape one don't let it turn you off to all tobaccos.

Thank you for the great information. I guess that is the one thing I did right. The only liquid I have used is a tobacco flavored menthol. I also got lucky in that the first one I tried I liked. I took a look at the different menthols they carried then I read the customer reviews and went with the one that had a 5 out of 5 rating. In my second order I did order a sample of a different menthol and it was awful so I am sticking with my original choice.

thank you again,

Somewhere out there
Something that helped me was I took a trip and I knew I could not take a lighter or matches on the plane so I just took vape items. That was the last time i smoked. I have a pack of cigs in my freezer as a security blanket, need to pitch them since it has been 2 years since I started vaping! I had a partial pack sitting around for a couple months as well, pitched them too. The thought of Smoking now makes me feel sick, so someday you will get there! Good luck! bnrk

My eRoll kit arrived yesterday :) So far so good!! It is more like smoking a cigarette than my ego-c does, although I don't know why the e-liquid tastes different in it. Is it normal for different equipment to make the liquid taste differently?

I still need to figure out the best way to maintain the eroll so it is always ready. It came with several empty cartridges so I am going to fill them ahead of time so I can just snap a filled one in when needed. Plus I want to keep both batteries charged for easy swap out as well.

If there are any eRoll users reading this thread whether past or present, please feel free to give me any advice I may need :)

thank you,
betty

I hang out here:

Joyetech eRoll *Mini*

Lots of useful info. You'll find that most clearos mute flavor to one degree or another. You might need a stronger flavor juice. If you buy from somewhere that offers extra flavor shots that would be good. I vape tobaccos and am enjoying the eroll because I can vape the stronger ones now and they all taste pretty much like a smoke. I did increase my nic levels using the eroll also because I use it more like I smoked instead of sucking on a PV 12 hours a day. I'm getting the same total amount of nic everyday just vaping less to get it which was important to me.

I would start out using your other setup for fill in but I think you'll find yourself reaching for the eroll more and more often. That happened to me anyway, I have two eroll kits and they have now become the only thing I vape with. I have never had a battery run all the way down. I vape like a smoke. About 10 minutes and back in the case charging. I've never had a PCC go dead either and really don't think I need two going. I do highly recommend a strong juice both in flavor and nic level.

Edit: Just a tip. Dekang juices all have needle nose bottles. I buy mine at litecigusa which also sells empty needle nose bottles. Dekang juices are light in flavor so if you get those look for the stronger ones. I also buy from mountain vapor and they use needle nose bottles.

Don't go to patches. Chain vape if need be to get through cravings. That is what I did. Your consumption will go down with time.

Thank you for the advice. I think after reading all the replies against the patches that I will give my eRoll kit a try along with a stronger flavor menthol and forget the idea of the patches.

thank you again,

betty

how are you7 doing today? NO pressure just checking in, with another added thought to share.
Maybe as if youre quitting on a weekend you can toss out the analogues on a night after you've ined up all your fav juices and nic stregth
that works for vape...include a backup batery so you dont get stuck and start a fresh W/E morning only vape gear.

Hope the eroll works for you. As a sidenote: welbutrin elevated certain neuro-chemicals that help fight depression. The nicotine elevates certain neuro receptors and chemicals. The welbutrine works decent for ppl without certain types of depression or bipolar. Also the generic welbutrin does not do the same thing for some reason. In clinical studies done in 2002, using welbutrine to treat depression or with ppl have bipolar the nicotine cancels out the welbutrine's effectiveness. Most dr will recommend quit smoking and will use chantix to help. It does not effect patients on welbutrin.

Also ask your dr for a medication with sleep. Ppl who have depression worsened by anxiety, stress and other items easily (commonly associated with pdsd) usually are not getting proper sleep cycles and this does help. I too have gone through this and am trying to quit the smoking. May see if somebody here has an eroll to try if it works for you. Having pdsd, bipolar with severe depression myself and smoking about 3.5 to 4.5 pad and using the pv and now down to 1 pad myself. Check with your medical because many do cover quit smoking assistance and these groups do have a dr to talk with yours about combining. I had quit smoking in 2009 with the nicotrol inhaler and nic patch along with a 12mg nic ecig (cigalike). I could not keep the level 1 patch going and was lowered in a generic fashion and after getting through all 3 levels of the patch began smoking again. The Texas state medicaid would not cover any further with the patch and the nicotrol inhaler was not enough nicotine.

Don't worry about ppl that act all high and mighty. I have seen that type in quit smoking groups and even in AA and NA and they always do well for a while (even a year or two) then fail and wonder why nobody helps them. Hate that type of person.

I am also going through a home course offered by RU (reformer's anonomous) (sorry about spelling) and it is helping a lot also. If I find somebody selling this course cheap, will send the link in pm for you. My pastor bought this one for me. Tried clippers and they were way too strong so I bought my own stuffer unit and loose whole tobacco and made my own. Cant do that where i am now though. Even $11 is too much money for something harmful to our body. Let us know how the eroll does. Sorry for the long reply too.

I am on a fixed disability income and can't afford to buy a whole new unit so am wondering if the new type of clearomizer would help.

check out my blog with links where on here you can find Pay It Forward and such, somebody might be giving away some things you need .... keep an eye on there this month.

Taniger1 is right, we are all individuals and we all take this journey together but a little differently than one another. I have already stated in several topics that I could not embrace vaping until I stopped bringing cigarettes into the house. Vaping just didn't taste right.....then I went home for weekend w/no tobacco, and by Monday I was so much enjoying vaping I couldn't believe it, night and day.

As long as there were cigarettes, ANYWHERE on the property, I would have smoked them. This is just something I know about myself, as we all do know certain things about our own selves.

Mind frame is important, it won't hurt to read the classic and very famous book by Allen Carr The Easy Way to Quit Smoking....it really does help, it's one of the best written on this subject matter, and it does kind of "prepare" you, psychologically, to just quit. :) If you do a google search I think you can find a free PDF of it. It was my bedside reading for months even before I took up vaping.

Good luck, I have no advice to offer, but sorry you are going thru this rough patch, I'm quite sure you will eventually break thru and get off the cigs though. REALLY. You will. :)

PS. understand about the wellbutrin. I had massive halluciinations on it. I remember telling my doctor this as I was staring into his face, and his face was breaking up into little Picasso-like pieces LOL Chantix worked for the first week, I would pick up a cig and take a drag and receive absolutely NO PLEASURE from it.........but then I started having vivid dreams and some OCD like behavior.....so....
